The European Figure Skating Championships is an annual figure skating competition in which figure skaters compete for the title of European champion. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The event is sanctioned by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is the sport's oldest competition. The first European Championships was held in 1891 in Hamburg, Germany and featured one segment, compulsory figures, with seven competitors, all men from Germany and Austria. It has been, other than four periods, held continuously since 1891, and has been sanctioned by the ISU since 1893. Women were allowed to compete for the first time in 1930, which is also the first time pairs skating was added to the competition. Ice dance was added in 1954. Only eligible skaters from ISU member countries in Europe can compete, and skaters must have reached at least the age of 15 before July 1 preceding the competition. ISU member countries can submit 1-3 skaters to compete in the European Championships.

She is the 2010 Olympic silver medalist, a three-time World champion, a three-time Four Continents champion, and a four-time Grand Prix Final champion. She is the first female figure skater who has landed three triple Axel jumps in one competition, which she achieved at the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Erica Anne Batchelor is a British figure skater. She is the 1954 World bronze medalist, the 1953 European silver medalist and three-time European bronze medalist. She represented Great Britain at the 1956 Winter Olympics, where she placed 11th. She resided in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1957 and left there for Bournemouth, England to turn professional. She had her portrait painted in Edinburgh, Scotland by Paul Seton Bramley in 1957. The same painter offered to the skater's friend Russ Christensen, who had accompanied the skater to portrait sessions, to do his portrait. The offer was accepted.

Erik Pausin was an Austrian pair skater. With his sister Ilse Pausin, he won the silver medal at the 1936 Winter Olympics at age 15, became one of the youngest male figure skating Olympic medalists. They won five consecutive silver medals (1935–1939) at the World Figure Skating Championships and three consecutive silver medals (1937–1939) at the European Figure Skating Championships. In 1939, they competed representing Nazi Germany, which swept the Worlds pairs podium that year.

Individually, Lipnitskaya is the 2014 World silver medalist, the 2014 European champion, the 2013–14 Grand Prix Final silver medalist, and a two-time Russian national silver medalist. Competing as a junior, Lipnitskaya won the 2012 World Junior Championships, 2011–12 JGP Final, and 2012 Russian Junior Championships. She retired from the professional sport on 9 September 2017 due to complications with ligaments of the legs and hip joints, as well as anorexia.

She is the 2014 CS Warsaw Cup silver medalist, the 2019 Santa Claus Cup champion, the 2015 CS Warsaw Cup bronze medalist, the 2016 Toruń Cup silver medalist, and the 2014 Tallinn Trophy silver medalist.
Maya Vladislavovna Khromykh is a Russian figure skater. She is 2021 Budapest Trophy gold medalist. On the junior level, she is the 2019 JGP France bronze medalist, and the 2019 Denis Ten Memorial Challenge silver medalist. She finished fourth at the 2020 World Junior Championships.
