Hassan Rana (born Hassan Waqas Rana), also known as Doc, [1] is a Pakistani film director, producer and screenwriter. He is best known for his debut production Waar , for which he won 3 awards at 1st ARY Film Awards. [2] He is the founder of MindWorks Media.

Breach of Contract

Hassan Rana was later honourably acquitted of all the allegations levelled against him, both by the Pakistani police as well as the courts of Pakistan, saying that the said allegation was baseless and no evidence to prove the claim of Bilal Lashari was produced at any forum. [3] Hassan Waqas Rana was recently booked under an FIR (First Information Report) with the Pakistani police by the director of Waar, Bilal Lashari for keeping Waar's profits for himself. Apparently, he transferred all cinema earnings to his personal account.

Waar is a 2013 Pakistani action-thriller film directed by Bilal Lashari, written by Hassan Rana, and produced by Syed Mujtaba Tirmizi. The film stars Shaan Shahid as Major Mujtaba Rizvi, a retired Pakistan Army Officer while Meesha Shafi, Ali Azmat, Shamoon Abbasi, Ayesha Khan, and Kamran Lashari star in supporting roles. The film follows Major Mujtaba Rizvi (Shahid), an officer, who returns from his retirement to save Pakistan from a major terrorist attack.

Meesha Shafi is a Pakistani-born Canadian singer, actress and model.

Bilal Lashari is a Pakistani filmmaker, cinematographer, screenwriter and occasional actor. He made his directorial debut with Waar (2013), which at the time of release became Pakistan's highest-grossing film. His next feature The Legend of Maula Jatt (2022) was a remake of the 1979 film Maula Jatt. The film broke box office records and became Pakistan's highest grossing film. Lashari won awards in four categories at the ARY Film Awards 2014 for his directorial debut.

Waar 2 is an upcoming Pakistani action-thriller film directed & written by Hassan Rana. It is a sequel to Bilal Lashari's directed 2013 film Waar. The film stars Shaan Shahid returning as Major Mujtaba Rizvi, Aleeze Nasser, Agha Haris Durrani and Bilal Ashraf. Unlike the original film, which was based on true events, the sequel will be a complete fictional story. The film was originally going to be released in 2017. As of 2023, the film is considered to be in Development Hell.

The Legend of Maula Jatt is a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language action drama film directed and written by Bilal Lashari. The film is an adaptation and a soft reboot of the 1979 Lollywood film Maula Jatt. It is produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the production banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia. It is based on the characters and stories by Nasir Adeeb. The film stars Fawad Khan as the titular character with Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, Faris Shafi and Mahira Khan. In the film, a local folk hero named Maula Jatt takes on his arch nemesis and the leader of a brutal clan, Noori Natt.

Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, sometimes abbreviated as JPNA is a 2015 Pakistani adventure comedy film directed by Nadeem Baig. It was co-produced by Humayun Saeed, Salman Iqbal and Shahzad Nasib at Saeed's production house, Six Sigma Plus. It is the first installment in the Jawani Phir Nahi Ani film series. The film stars Humayun Saeed, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Ahmad Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry and Mehwish Hayat. The supporting cast includes Sohai Ali Abro, Jawed Sheikh, Ismail Tara, Bushra Ansari, Ayesha Khan, Sarwat Gillani and Uzma Khan. The film is about a single man who is a divorce lawyer. He takes his three married friends on a trip to help them escape their wives and the monotony of their lives.

Kamran Lashari is a Pakistani retired civil servant of the Pakistan Administrative Service who served in BPS-22 grade at the top bureaucratic offices including as Petroleum Secretary of Pakistan and Chief Secretary Sindh. Lashari is best known for his five-year stint as chairman of the Capital Development Authority during the government of Pervez Musharraf. After retirement from active civil service, Lashari remained president of the Lahore Gymkhana and director general of the Walled City of Lahore Authority.

<i>Dunk</i> (2020 TV series) Pakistani drama series

Dunk is a Pakistani drama serial that premiered on 23 December 2020 on ARY Digital. It deals with the false allegations of harassment and stars Bilal Abbas Khan as Haider, Sana Javed as Amal, Yasra Rizvi as Saira and Noman Ijaz as Professor Humayun. The serial has been written by Mohsin Ali and directed by Badar Mehmood, the duo who previously collaborated for mega-hits, Aisi Hai Tanhai and Ishqiya. According to producer Fahad Mustafa, the series is based on a real incident in Lahore. The story is inspired by an incident that took place in MAO college, Lahore, where a professor committed suicide over false harassment allegations by a student.
