Hats Off to the Buskers is the debut album by Scottish band The View. It was released on 22 January 2007 on 1965 Records. It was reported on the band's official forum that the album had leaked to various internet sites in mid December 2006. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at No. 1 on 28 January 2007. The album charted at No. 45 on the UK end-of-year album chart, after selling around 319,000 copies in 2007. The album has been certified platinum. [1] It was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Prize.

The View are a Scottish indie rock band. They incorporate various styles such as punk, pop, alternative rock, and folk in their music. They are best known for their 2007 single "Same Jeans" which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart.

Wasted Little DJs 2006 single by The View

"Wasted Little DJs" is the debut single by Dundee indie band The View, taken from the album Hats Off to the Buskers. The single was written about The Wasted Little DJs, known as Karlene and Charlene who are both hairdressers and DJs from Dundee. Charlene is the girlfriend of The View bassist Kieren Webster. Karlene is the wife of The View keyboardist Darren Paul Rennie. Before its physical release on 8 August 2006, the single had reached number 73 on the UK Singles Chart on downloads only, before climbing up to number 15 the following week. It spent two more weeks in the UK top 40 before dropping out altogether. In the band's native Scotland, the song reached number one on the Scottish Singles Chart.

"Same Jeans" is the third single by Dundee band The View, appearing on their debut album Hats Off to the Buskers. It was Radio 1's Jo Whiley's record of the week, commencing 27 November 2006, and was released on 15 January 2007. It followed the singles "Wasted Little DJs" and "Superstar Tradesman" and was the third and final release before the album on 22 January 2007.

Kyle Falconer Scottish singer

Kyle Francis Falconer is a Scottish musician, best known as the lead vocalist of The View. Along with the other band members, Falconer hails from the Dryburgh district of Dundee. He shares songwriting responsibilities with bass guitarist Kieren Webster.

Kieren Webster

Kieren Clark Webster is the bass guitarist and occasional lead vocalist for Scottish band The View; he is also the lead vocalist for band WEB. On 27 March 2020 WEB released their first single ‘Haze’. Along with frontman Kyle Falconer, he writes the majority of The View's material. In 2006, he was placed 6th in NME's Cool List. He and Falconer alternate roles on some songs such as "Skag Trendy", "Gran's for Tea", "One Off Pretender", "Realisation", "Fireworks and Flowers", "Hole In The Bed" and "Cracks", with Webster taking on guitar and lead vocals and Falconer replacing him as bass guitarist and backing vocalist. He and other band members are from the Dryburgh district of Dundee.

"The Don" is the fourth single by Dundee band The View, it was released on 23 April 2007 as a double A-side along with "Skag Trendy". It follows the singles "Wasted Little DJs", "Superstar Tradesman" and "Same Jeans", and is taken from the debut album Hats Off to the Buskers. The single did not do as well as its predecessors, only entering as far as the UK Top 40, reaching a disappointing #33 in the UK Singles Chart. However, this was to be their final UK Top 40 single so far as their next four singles were to miss the UK Top 40 altogether.

"Skag Trendy" is the fourth single by Dundee band The View, it was released on 23 April 2007 as a double A-side along with "The Don". It follows the singles "Wasted Little DJs", "Superstar Tradesman" and "Same Jeans", and is taken from the debut album Hats Off to the Buskers. The single did not do as well as its predecessors, only reaching a disappointing #33 in the UK Singles Chart. One of the B-sides, "I've Just Seen a Face", is a Beatles cover.

Rock n Roll Jesus is the seventh studio album by Kid Rock, released on October 9, 2007. Rob Cavallo co-produced the album with Rock. Mike E. Clark produced the track "All Summer Long". The album was not available at the iTunes Store in an act of protest by Kid Rock regarding a royalties dispute. It was nominated for two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Album and Best Male Vocal Performance for "All Summer Long" at the 2009 Grammy Awards. 1965 Records is a London-based subsidiary record label of SonyBMG. Formed in 2006, the label was founded by James Endeacott, who first signed The Libertines. The label features bands who are primarily indie rock/pop, and are best known for signing Dundee based four-piece The View.

Which Bitch? is the second album from Scottish band The View which was released 2 February 2009. Paolo Nutini guests on the track "Covers". "Gem of a Bird" is about Kyle Falconer's girlfriend Katie Gwyther, with whom the song is a duet.

Grace/Wastelands is the debut solo album from Babyshambles frontman/The Libertines co-frontman Peter Doherty.
