Kannada cinema, also known as Sandalwood, or Chandanavana, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Kannada language widely spoken in the state of Karnataka. The 1934 film Sati Sulochana directed by Y. V. Rao was the first talkie film in the Kannada language. It was also the first film starring Subbaiah Naidu and Tripuramba, and was the first motion picture screened in the erstwhile Mysore Kingdom. The film was produced by Chamanlal Doongaji, who in 1932 founded South India Movietone in Bangalore.

Lifeu Ishtene is a 2011 Indian Kannada-language black comedy film written and directed by Pawan Kumar. It stars Diganth, Sindhu Lokanath and Samyukta Hornad in the lead roles. Sathish Ninasam, Achyuth Kumar and Veena Sundar feature in supporting roles. The plot revolves around the adult life of a carefree youngster, who falls in love easily with multiple women, and observes the consequences, "realizing the meaning of life" and that it comes a "full circle". The title of the film was taken from a track of the 2010 Kannada film Pancharangi.
Drama is a 2012 Indian Kannada romantic comedy thriller written, directed and co-produced by Yogaraj Bhat under the banner Yogaraj Movies and Jayanna Combines. It stars Yash, Radhika Pandit, Sathish Ninasam and Sindhu Lokanath in leading roles and veteran actor Ambareesh in an extended cameo appearance.
Sindhu, known by her stage name Sindhu Loknath, is an Indian actress and model who predominantly appears in Kannada cinema. She made her debut in films, with a cameo role in Parichaya (2009). She is recognized for her performances in Lifeu Ishtene (2011), Drama (2012), Case No. 18/9 (2013) and Love in Mandya (2014).
Love in Mandya is a 2014 Indian Kannada language romance film written and directed by Arasu Anthare. It stars Sathish Ninasam and Sindhu Lokanath in the lead roles. The supporting cast features Manjunath, Prakash Shenoy, Jayashree Krishna and Rajendra Kamath.
Case No.18/9 is a 2013 Indian Kannada language film directed by Mahesh Rao, a remake of the Tamil film Vazhakku Enn 18/9 (2012). The film stars Niranjan Shetty and Sindhu Lokanath. The supporting cast features Abhishek, Shweta Pandit and Rangayana Raghu.

Vikram Vedha is a 2017 Indian Tamil-language neo-noir action thriller film written and directed by Pushkar–Gayathri and produced by S. Sashikanth under his banner YNOT Studios. The film stars R. Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi as the titular anti-heroes, while Shraddha Srinath, Kathir, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Prem, Achyuth Kumar, Hareesh Peradi and Vivek Prasanna play supporting roles. Inspired by the Indian folktale Baital Pachisi, the film tells the story of Vikram, a police inspector who sets out to track down and kill Vedha, a gangster. After Vedha voluntarily surrenders himself, he tells Vikram three stories which change his perceptions of good and evil.
Avane Srimannarayana is a 2019 Indian Kannada-language western fantasy adventure comedy film directed and edited by Sachin B. Ravi in his directorial debut. Jointly produced by Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah and H.K.Prakash, the film features Rakshit Shetty and Shanvi Srivastava in lead roles. B. Ajaneesh Loknath and Charan Raj composed the soundtrack, with the former composing the score, whereas Karm Chawla handled the cinematography. Described by Shetty as "Southern Odd Fiction", the film follows a corrupt police officer who takes on a bandit chief in order to recover a missing treasure in the 1980s.
Vikram Yoganand is an Indian film director, editor, writer, cinematographer and commercial ad maker predominantly working in the Kannada film industry.
Kaanadante Maayavadanu is a 2020 romantic fantasy Kannada film directed by debutante Raj Pathipati and produced by Back Benchers Motion Picture. The film gets it title from the opening lines of the song "Kaanadante Maayavadanu" "Namma Shiva kailasa serikondanu" from the movie Chalisuva Modagalu. The film stars Vikas and Sindhu Lokanath.
Coffee with My Wife is a 2013 Indian Kannada-language directed by Vidyasagar starring Anish Tejeshwar and Sindhu Lokanath in lead roles.
Parichaya is a 2009 Indian Kannada-language film directed by K Sanjay and Produced by S G Krishna Murthy starring Tarun Chandra and Rekha in the lead roles. The movie is loosely inspired by the 2001 movie Serendipity.
Prema Prema Prema is a 1999 Indian Kannada-language romantic drama film directed by S. Siddalingaiah and starring Suresh Raj, Sindhu Menon and Ramya. The film is based on the novel Talemaaru by Ramdas. After this film, Siddalingaiah took a break from direction and it became his final film as director.
