Helen Rosner is an American food writer and editor. She is food correspondent for The New Yorker. [1]

From 2014 to 2017, Rosner was an editor at Eater, [2] serving as long-form features editor and later executive editor. She joined Eater after spending four years as executive digital editor at Saveur . [3] [4] [5] Prior to that, she was online restaurant editor for New York Magazine and an assistant cookbook editor at Workman. [6] With Raphael Brion, she co-founded the food blog Eat Me Daily, which "carved out a vital place in a crowded food blog world by being smarter, wittier, and faster than everyone else," according to Rosner's colleague, Eater co-founder Lockhart Steele. [7] Rosner and Brion initially wrote the blog under pseudonyms. [7] Rosner's essay "On Chicken Tenders," published in Guernica, won the 2016 James Beard Foundation Journalism award for Personal Essay. [8] [9]

When she tweeted about a roast chicken recipe using a hair dryer to dry the chicken before cooking, [10] this drew many responses, including criticism that she responded to with details about the technique. [11]

In 2018, Rosner was nominated for the James Beard Foundation M.F.K. Fisher Distinguished Writing Award for her piece, "Christ in the Garden of Endless Breadsticks.". [12]

The James Beard Foundation Awards are annual awards presented by the James Beard Foundation to recognize culinary professionals in the United States. The awards recognize chefs, restaurateurs, authors and journalists each year, scheduled around James Beard's May 5 birthday. The media awards are presented at a dinner in New York City; the chef and restaurant awards were also presented in New York until 2015, when the Foundation's annual gala moved to Chicago. Chicago will continue to host the Awards until 2027.

James Oseland

James Oseland is the author and editor-in-chief of World Food, a book series that explores the planet’s greatest food destinations. He served as editor-in-chief of the U.S. food magazine Saveur from 2006 to 2014. His memoir and cookbook Cradle of Flavor received accolades from the James Beard Foundation and the International Association of Culinary Professionals and was named one of the best books of 2006 by the New York Times, Time Asia, and Good Morning America. His writing has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Gourmet, Vogue, and dozens of other media outlets. He was a judge from 2009 to 2013 on the Bravo television series Top Chef Masters. Oseland is also the author of Jimmy Neurosis, a LAMDA-nominated coming-of-age memoir set against the California and New York City punk rock movements of the late 1970s. Out called the book "nonstop entertainment," while Rolling Stone hailed it as a "vibrant coming-of-age memoir [told] in an instantly lovable voice."

Judith Jones was an American writer and editor, best known for having rescued The Diary of Anne Frank from the reject pile. Jones also championed Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She retired as senior editor and vice president at Alfred A. Knopf in 2011. Jones was also a cookbook author and memoirist. She won multiple lifetime achievement awards, including the James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.

Kevin Gillespie is an American chef, author and former Top Chef contestant. He is a former co-owner and executive chef at Woodfire Grill in Atlanta. He opened Gunshow, a restaurant in Atlanta, in 2013 and Revival, a restaurant in Decatur, Georgia, in 2015. Gillespie also started Red Beard Restaurants, allowing Gillespie to expand and provide consulting services to other start-ups. Kevin Gillespie’s Gamechanger opened in August 2017 on the 200 concourse western end zone of the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Maricel Presilla is a chef, culinary historian, and author. She is best known for her Hoboken, New Jersey restaurants Cucharamama and Zafra. She is also a former history lecturer at Rutgers University before she entered the food industry.

Mimi Sheraton is an American food critic. Her mother, Beatrice, has been described as an excellent cook and her father, Joseph Solomon, was a commission merchant in a wholesale produce market.

Michael Solomonov is an Israeli chef and restaurateur, known for his Philadelphia restaurant, Zahav. He won the James Beard Foundation awards for Best Chef: Mid-Atlantic in 2011, Cookbook of the Year in 2016, and Outstanding Chef in 2017.

Naomi Pomeroy, born in Corvallis, Oregon, in 1974, is a professional chef and restaurateur. In an interview, Pomeroy explains that she began cooking at the age of three and created her first recipe at the age of four. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College in 1997 with a degree in history Pomeroy has no formal culinary or business training; she developed her skills by watching other food-industry professionals. In 2007, she opened the restaurant Beast in Portland, Oregon. Previously, she started Gotham Tavern, Gotham Coffee shop, and ClarkLewis restaurant with Michael Hebb. In 2013, Working Mother magazine featured an article which details Pomeroy's experiences as a working single parent.

Andrea Nguyen is a Vietnamese-born, American teacher, food writer, cookbook author and chef living in the San Francisco area. An expert on Asian cuisine and cooking methods, Nguyen has written numerous cookbooks on the food of her native Vietnam, as well as an account of her family's escape during the Fall of Saigon. She writes an active blog, as well as articles for newspapers and food magazines and teaches cooking classes throughout the country.

Samin Nosrat is an American chef, TV host and food writer. She is the author the James Beard Award–winning New York Times Bestselling cookbook Salt Fat Acid Heat and host of a Netflix docu-series of the same name. Until February 2021, she was a columnist for The New York Times Magazine.

Eater is a food and dining network of sites and brand of Vox Media. The network was co-founded by Lockhart Steele and Ben Leventhal in 2005, and originally focused on dining and nightlife in New York City. Eater launched a national site in 2009, and covered nearly 20 cities by 2012. Vox Media acquired Eater, along with two others comprising the Curbed Network, in late 2013. In 2017, Eater had around 25 local sites in the United States, Canada, and England. The site has been recognized four times by the James Beard Foundation Awards.

Mei Lin is a Chinese-American chef and television personality, best known as the winner of the twelfth season of the Bravo television network's reality television series, Top Chef.
