Background

Nasty C told Mac G from 94.7 FM that he wrote the song and released it within 24 hours. Moreover, he said he started writing bars while listening to a beat he had produced earlier. [3]

The music video for "Hell Naw" was shot by Teddy Maxx and edited by Nasty C and Pierre. Nasty C assisted Teddy Maxx with directing it. [4]

Covers

J'Something, Mi Casa's lead vocalist, celebrated Youth Day by performing a cover of the song in June 2016. [5] In July 2016, Nigerian rapper Hotyce released a cover of "Hell Naw", with production assistance from Emmeno. [6]

Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo, known professionally as Nasty C, is a South African rapper, songwriter, and record producer.

Zonke Dikana, known simply as Zonke, is a South African singer-songwriter and record producer. Her rise to stardom came in 2011 following the release of her third album, Ina Ethe, which was certified double platinum and was nominated at the 18th South African Music Awards. In 2013, she recorded and released Give and Take Live, which was certified gold just two months after its release and earned her a place in the Channel O list of "Africa's Top 10 Female Singing Sensations". Bad Hair is the debut studio album by South African hip hop artist Nasty C. It was released by Mabala Noise Entertainment on 23 September 2016. The album was made available for streaming and free digital download on Audiomack on the same day of its release, and was added to iTunes on 24 September 2016. It features guest appearances from Omari Hardwick, Riky Rick, Tshego, Tellaman, Erick Rush and Rowlene. Nasty C executive produced the album, along with contributions from "Ganja Beatz", "The Gobbla", "Alie Keyz" and "Gemini Major". The album was supported by one single —"Hell Naw".
