Henry Alan Gilroy (born November 1976) is an American film and television screenwriter and producer. He is best known for co-writing the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars .
From an early age, Gilroy loved comic books and animation which inspired him to study film at several colleges in the greater Los Angeles area. [1]
His first job at a Hollywood studio was working as an editor for Warner Bros.' animation department working Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toon Adventures . [1] It was at Warner Bros. that Gilroy sold his first script to the producers of the Emmy winning Batman: The Animated Series , for the Scarecrow episode, "Nothing to Fear". After a staff writer gig on the WB's Tazmanian Devil animated series, Tazmania , Gilroy moved on to work on The Tick animated series before taking a staff job at Disney Television Animation for several years where he worked on such series as Timon & Pumbaa , Mickey Mouse Works , House of Mouse , Lilo & Stitch: The Series and Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go! before being chosen to develop and write the Star Wars: The Clone Wars CG animated series for Lucasfilm Animation with creator George Lucas and director Dave Filoni. He served as head writer for season one and part of season two, penning several episodes, [2] including the first stories featuring fan favorite character Ahsoka Tano, among others. He is also the author of several Star Wars comic books. [3]
Leaving Lucasfilm, Gilroy spent two years at Hasbro Studios, where he developed and led the writing on two other animated series, G.I. Joe: Renegades and Kaijudo , and then moved on to Marvel Animation Studios where he acted as supervising producer and head writer on Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and Ultimate Spider-Man as well as penning two CG Marvel Heroes United films featuring team-ups with Iron Man & the Hulk [4] and Iron Man & Captain America.
Gilroy is co-creator of the first Bionicle trilogy and has since written for numerous other animated series, such as The Mask , Justice League Unlimited , The 99 , Kim Possible , and the direct-to-video Disney movie title Atlantis: Milo's Return and the Funimation anime film Mass Effect: Paragon Lost based on the hit video game for Electronic Arts and BioWare. Gilroy wrote the four-issue Joker/Mask comic book which was collected by Dark Horse/DC Comics in 2001. [6] He also wrote the Dark Horse Alien one-shot comic books, Aliens: Herk Mondo and Aliens: Mondo Heat in collaboration with artist and Pixar director Ronnie del Carmen. [7]
In 2014, Gilroy returned to Lucasfilm under Disney studios to serve as co-executive producer and series writer of Star Wars: Rebels where he wrote seventeen episodes through 2018. [8]
In 2019, Gilroy was selected as the showrunner/head writer for an animated Magic: The Gathering TV show for Netflix with the Russo Brothers. [9]
In 2020, Gilroy began working on DreamWorks Dragons: The Nine Realms , an animated television series for DreamWorks Animation. [10]

Lucasfilm Ltd. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is an American animated television series created by George Lucas. It is part of the Star Wars multimedia franchise, and is set during the time period of its prequel trilogy, with seasons 1-6 set during the three years between the prequel films Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002) and Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), whilst the first eight episodes of the final season take place during the same time period and the last 4 episodes of season 7 takes place concurrently with Revenge of the Sith. Lucas, who closely collaborated with supervising director Dave Filoni on the series, called it a continuation of the previous Genndy Tartakovsky-produced 2003 Clone Wars series. The series began with a theatrical feature film that was released on August 15, 2008, and debuted on Cartoon Network two months later on October 3, 2008. Episodes had a running time of approximately 22 minutes to fill a half-hour time slot. The seventh season was released exclusively on Disney+, where it no longer needed to fit specific time slots, and run times were approximately 24 to 26 minutes.
Ahsoka Tano is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise. She was introduced as the 14-year-old Togruta Jedi Padawan of Anakin Skywalker in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2008) before appearing in the subsequent animated television series ; the sequel series Star Wars Rebels (2014–2018); in the live-action film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) as a voiceover cameo; and in the miniseries Tales of the Jedi (2022), voiced by Ashley Eckstein. In 2020, Ahsoka made her live-action debut in the second season of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, portrayed by Rosario Dawson. Dawson reprised the role in a 2022 episode of the spin-off series The Book of Boba Fett, and the 2023 series, Ahsoka.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a 2008 American computer-animated epic space opera film directed by Dave Filoni, produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. and Lucasfilm Animation, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, becoming the first Star Wars film to not be distributed by 20th Century Fox. It is the first fully animated film in the Star Wars franchise and takes place shortly after Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), at the start of the titular Clone Wars. In the film, Count Dooku and Jabba the Hutt's uncle Ziro orchestrate a plan to turn Jabba against the Galactic Republic by framing the Jedi for the kidnapping of his son. While Anakin Skywalker and his newly assigned apprentice Ahsoka Tano attempt to deliver the child back to his father, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala lead separate investigations to uncover Dooku and Ziro's plot.
Captain Rex is a fictional character in the Star Wars franchise created by George Lucas. He was introduced as a main character in the animated The Clone Wars 2008 film and the related television series of the same name. Rex is a clone trooper of the Grand Army of the Republic, cloned from the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett, and serves the Galactic Republic under the command of Jedi General Anakin Skywalker and Jedi Commander Ahsoka Tano. Since his introduction in The Clone Wars, he has also appeared in the 2014 Star Wars Rebels television series, the 2021 Star Wars: The Bad Batch television series, the 2022 Tales of the Jedi television series and various spin-off media. Like all clone troopers in The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi, Rex is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker. David Filoni is an American director, producer, and screenwriter currently serving as the current Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm. He directed multiple episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, before being hired by George Lucas to oversee direction on the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars as well as directing and writing numerous episodes, including its theatrical film. He was the creator of follow-up series Star Wars Rebels, and served as a supervising director, executive producer and writer. Filoni is the creator, executive producer and sole writer of live-action miniseries Ahsoka, and is an executive producer on The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew. Filoni is also the creator and executive producer of the animated series Star Wars Resistance,Star Wars: The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi, and an executive producer of the web series Star Wars Forces of Destiny. Filoni is an Executive Vice President at Lucasfilm, and in 2023 accepted a promotion to Chief Creative Officer.
Star Wars has been expanded to media other than the original films. This spin-off material is licensed and moderated by Lucasfilm, though during his involvement with the franchise Star Wars creator George Lucas reserved the right to both draw from and contradict it in his own works. Such derivative works have been produced concurrently with, between, and after the original, prequel, and sequel trilogies, as well as the spin-off films and television series. Commonly explored Star Wars media include books, comic books, and video games, though other forms such as audio dramas have also been produced.

It follows Kazuda Xiono, a New Republic pilot who is recruited by the Resistance to spy on the growing threat of the First Order shortly before and during the events of the sequel trilogy.
The Mandalorian is an American space Western television series created by Jon Favreau for the streaming service Disney+. It is the first live-action series produced in the Star Wars franchise, beginning five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983). The series stars Pedro Pascal as the title character, a lone bounty hunter who goes on the run to protect the Force-sensitive child Grogu from remnant Imperial forces led by Moff Gideon. In the third season, Katee Sackhoff co-stars as Mandalorian Bo-Katan Kryze, following her appearance in the second season.
