The Maryland House of Delegates is the lower house of the legislature of the U.S. state of Maryland. It consists of 141 delegates elected from 47 districts. The House of Delegates Chamber is in the Maryland State House on State Circle in Annapolis. The State House also houses the Maryland State Senate and the offices of the Governor and Lieutenant Governor of the State of Maryland. Each delegate has offices in Annapolis, in the nearby Casper R. Taylor Jr. House Office Building.

Michael Erin “Coach” Busch was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party who served as the 106th Speaker of the Maryland House of Delegates from 2003 until his death in 2019. Busch was a member of the House for nine terms, beginning in 1987. He represented all of legislative District 30 prior to redistricting in 2012, and represented District 30A after the district was split following the 2010 census. The district encompasses parts of Anne Arundel County, including the state capital of Annapolis.

Ronald Alan George is a former Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates. From January 2007 to January 2015, he represented District 30 in the Maryland General Assembly, located within Anne Arundel County. He shared this district with Democratic member House Speaker Michael E. Busch and Republican Herbert H. McMillan. Redistricting after 2010 placed George in District 33. He sought the Republican nomination for Governor of Maryland in 2014, but finished fourth in the primary. In December 2014, George expressed interest in being appointed to the District 33 House of Delegates seat vacated by Cathy Vitale, who was appointed a judge. George unsuccessfully ran for the state Senate in District 30 in 2018; this district includes Annapolis.

Steven R. Schuh is a former County Executive of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, and a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates, serving two terms in the Maryland General Assembly representing District 31. Beginning in 2018, Schuh served as the Executive Director for the State of Maryland's Opioid Operational Command Center before assuming the role of Deputy Secretary for Health Care Financing and Medicaid in 2021. Schuh also played an instrumental role in the State's response to the pandemic serving as Section Chief for the Governor's COVID-19 Task Force.

Janet Greenip is an American former Republican State Senator from Crofton, Maryland, representing District 33 from 2003 through 2009.

Robert A. Costa was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, and until his retirement represented District 33B, which is located in Anne Arundel County. He defeated Democrat Mike Shay in the 2006 election. In 2002 he defeated Democrat Dotty Chaney to initially capture the seat of this newly created district. He announced his retirement in 2014. He was succeeded by Sid Saab.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Michael D. Smigiel Sr.</span> American politician (1958–2022)

Michael D. Smigiel Sr. was an American politician who was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates, where he represented District 36, which covers Caroline, Cecil, Kent, and Queen Anne's Counties. He was first elected in 2002 along with fellow Republicans Richard Sossi and Mary Roe Walkup after the legislative boundaries were redrawn. Prior to 2002, District 36 had a separate representative for Cecil, Kent, and Queen Anne's Counties. After combining the districts, Smigiel won the seat previously occupied by former Elkton Mayor, James Crouse. Crouse was appointed to the seat in July 2001 following Governor Parris Glendenning's appointment of longtime Elkton Delegate Ronald A. Guns to the Public Service Commission. In 2006, he defeated Democratic challenger Mark Guns for reelection. In the 2006 election, the voting method returned to voting for a representative for each county.

Virginia Lawrence (Parker) Clagett is an American politician from Maryland and a member of the Democratic Party. She served in the Maryland House of Delegates, representing Maryland's District 30 in Anne Arundel County, until her 4th term ended in December 2010. A proven vote-getter for decades, she lost re-election in November 2010 to Delegate Herbert H. McMillan. Clagett is a member of the Marlborough Hunt Club, a local Fox Hunt in Southern Maryland.
