The Style Council were a British band formed in late 1982 by Paul Weller, the former lead vocalist, principal songwriter and guitarist with the Jam, and keyboardist Mick Talbot, previously a member of Dexys Midnight Runners, the Bureau and the Merton Parkas. Weller started the project to escape the restrictions of the Jam, and to explore a more arty, European, jazzier direction, which encompassed pop, hip hop, and soul.
In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988–2003 is the second official compilation album released by R.E.M. Issued in 2003, it includes tracks from their Warner Bros. Records era, from 1988's Green to 2001's Reveal, as well as two new recordings and two songs from movie soundtracks. The album was the tenth-best-selling album of 2003 in the UK, and the 50th-best-selling album of the 2000s in the UK.
With the Lights Out is a box set by the American rock band Nirvana, released on November 23, 2004. It contains three CDs and one DVD of previously rare or unreleased material, including B-sides, demos, and rehearsal and live recordings. The title comes from the lyrics of Nirvana's 1991 single "Smells Like Teen Spirit".
B-Sides & Rarities is a 3CD compilation by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, released in March 2005. It features over 20 years of the band's B-sides and previously unreleased tracks. It is also the first recording to include all members of the Bad Seeds, past and present up to the time of its release: current members Mick Harvey, Blixa Bargeld, Thomas Wydler, Martyn P. Casey, Conway Savage, Jim Sclavunos, and Warren Ellis, and former members Barry Adamson, Hugo Race, Kid Congo Powers, Roland Wolf, and James Johnston. A second volume, B-Sides & Rarities Part II, was released in October 2021.
Barbed Wire Kisses is a compilation album by Scottish alternative rock band The Jesus and Mary Chain. It was released on 18 April 1988 by Blanco y Negro Records. The album contains singles, B-sides and rare tracks. Throughout the 1980s the band was known for their prodigious output in these formats, often in limited editions which quickly went out of print. This album collects many of those releases spanning the band's career up to that point.
Frenzy is the fourth studio album by New Zealand new wave band Split Enz. Frenzy ventured even further beyond the band's art rock roots to more of a pop sound.
Twist and Shout is the first UK extended play by the English rock band the Beatles, released in the UK on EMI's Parlophone label on 12 July 1963. It contains four tracks produced by George Martin that were previously released on the band's debut album Please Please Me. Rush-released to meet public appetite, the record topped the UK EP chart for twenty-one weeks, the biggest-selling EP of all time in the UK to that point, and became so successful that it registered on the NME Singles Chart, peaking at number four. The EP's cover photograph, featuring the Beatles jumping in a London bombsite, has been described by The Telegraph as "one of the key images of the 1960s".
Rarities 1971–2003 is a compilation album by The Rolling Stones that was released in 2005 worldwide by Virgin Records – as well as by the coffee-chain Starbucks in North America – and features a selection of rare and obscure material recorded between 1971 and 2003. The album peaked at No. 76 on the Billboard chart.
Confessions of a Pop Group is the fourth full-length studio album by English sophisti-pop band the Style Council, released 20 June 1988 by Polydor. After the critical failure of The Cost of Loving (1987), tensions between Polydor and lead singer Paul Weller intensified, but Polydor paid Weller a hefty advance for the recording of Confessions. Backing vocalist Dee C. Lee became an official member during the sessions, while drummer Steve White left the group. The sessions were engineered by "Jezar" using two 24-track digital recorders, which allowed the group to experiment in ways they had not previously engaged before.
Extras is a compilation by the British group The Jam. Released in April 1992 it includes 26 B-sides, rarities, and unreleased tracks. Non-album singles that were included on the previous year's Greatest Hits album are not included here.
Fly on the Wall: B Sides & Rarities is a 2003 compilation album by British artist Paul Weller. It comprises three discs of B-sides, rarities, remixes and unreleased tracks from The Go! Discs and Island Records period of Weller's career between 1991 and 2001.
Love Junk is the debut album by Canadian power pop band the Pursuit of Happiness, released in 1988. The album's biggest hit was "I'm an Adult Now", although "Hard to Laugh" and "She's So Young" were also notable singles in Canada. It is the most successful album by the band, being certified Platinum in Canada and selling 125,000 copies in the United States. Love Junk reached number 28 on the RPM Canadian Albums Chart in 1989. The album was the 12th best-selling Cancon album in Canada of 1989.
"Shout to the Top!" is a song by the English band the Style Council which was their seventh single to be released. It was composed by lead singer Paul Weller, and was released in 1984. It appears on the Vision Quest soundtrack in the United States.
Greatest Hits is a compilation album by English band The Style Council, released in 2000 eleven years after their split. It was re-released 14 April 2003.
The Complete Adventures of The Style Council is a box set by The Style Council, released in 1998, nine years after their split. Released after the success of Direction Reaction Creation, a box set of Paul Weller's previous band The Jam released the previous year, this box set takes a similar approch, by including at least one studio version of every song the Style Council released during their time together, either as album tracks, EP tracks or single A- and B-sides, in chronological order. In cases where the single and album versions of the same song are radically different both versions are included. The box set also includes the group's previously unreleased final studio album Modernism: A New Decade, which was recorded and intended for release in 1989.
The Singular Adventures of The Style Council is the first greatest hits album by the Style Council, released in 1989. Subtitled Greatest Hits Vol. 1, there was never a 'Vol. 2' as the group broke up within a year of the album's release.

Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path is a 3-CD compilation album by the American rock band Soundgarden. It was released on November 24, 2014. The album is a collection of rarities, live tracks, and unreleased material spanning the group's history. It includes previously released songs, such as "Live to Rise", "Black Rain", "Birth Ritual", and others, as well as a newly recorded rendition of a song from the band's pre-Matt Cameron 1985 demo, "The Storm", now simply titled "Storm", which was produced by Jack Endino.
Return to Pepperland is the name given to an unfinished recording project by English musician Paul McCartney with American record producer Phil Ramone. The songs recorded during these sessions have been the basis of bootleg albums usually titled Return to Pepperland.
B-Sides and Rarities is a compilation album by American dream pop band Beach House, released on June 30, 2017 through Sub Pop in North America, Bella Union in Europe, and Mistletone Records in Australia. The compilation contains B-sides and rare, unreleased cuts along with two new songs, "Chariot" and "Baseball Diamond". It also includes the band's cover of Queen's "Play the Game".
