Hoeryong Station is a metro station on Seoul Subway Line 1. In July 2012 it became a transfer station to the U Line. [1] It lies in the city of Uijeongbu. [2]

The original station building was demolished, and a new, larger building incorporating shops, clinics, and a car park, was built, opening in late 2016.

Gyeonggibuk Science High School is a science high school in Uijeongbu, Republic of Korea, established in 2005. It was called Uijeongbu Science High School(UIS) before January 7, 2008. Some Korean students called GBS "Uigwak" which is from the pronunciation of UIS. There are about 230 students with most going on to university in the second year. GBS covers an area of 25,000 m2 with 18 classrooms and 16 laboratories. All students live in the dormitory, two students to a room.

Camp Jackson is a United States Army camp south of Camp Red Cloud and 20 miles south of the city of Uijeongbu at the throat of the Uijeongbu Corridor, on the National Highway 3 now in the far northern Dobong-gu suburb of Seoul. It was one of the smallest US military installations in South Korea. The camp was named after Private First Class George W. Jackson who was awarded the Silver Star during the Korean War.

The U Line is a driverless, fully automatic, grade-separated light rail or light metro line in Uijeongbu, Seoul Capital Area, South Korea. The "U" is short for the city Uijeongbu. The line uses Véhicule Automatique Léger (VAL) 208 trains built by Siemens Transportation Systems. The system is very similar to the Toulouse Metro, Lille Metro and Rennes Metro in France. The line color is amber.
