Homebelly Groove...Live is the second live album, and third release overall, by American jam band Spin Doctors, released in 1992.

Contents

Tracks 4, 5, and 6 are from a free radio concert for WNEW-FM, recorded at Lonestar Roadhouse in New York City on June 12, 1992. The remaining tracks were recorded on September 27, 1990 at Wetlands, New York City; tracks 2, 9, and 10 originally appeared on the band's EP Up for Grabs...Live . [4] An additional track from the Lonestar Roadhouse show, a performance of "What Time Is It?" featuring John Popper of Blues Traveler on harmonica, was released as the B-side of the single "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong." [5]

It also yielded three minor hit singles—"Cleopatra's Cat", "Mary Jane" and "You Let Your Heart Go Too Fast"—in the UK, with lead single "Cleopatra's Cat" making the top 30 ; "You Let Your Heart Go Too Fast" was also a minor US hit, just missing out on the Top 40, peaking at No. 42.

Frankie LaRocka, born Frank LaRocca, was an American rock musician and producer. He was a member of Scandal, playing drums on their debut EP, and, at various stages, played the drums with Bon Jovi, David Johansen, Bryan Adams, and John Waite. In the 1990s, he became an A&R man and producer with his most notable work being with the Spin Doctors on their breakthrough album Pocket Full of Kryptonite.

Lonestar is an American country music group from Nashville, Tennessee. The group consists of Drew Womack, Michael Britt, Dean Sams, and Keech Rainwater (drums). Britt, Sams, and Rainwater co-founded the band in 1992 with original lead vocalist Richie McDonald and bass guitarist/vocalist John Rich. Rich exited the band in 1998 and went on to join Big Kenny as one-half of the duo Big & Rich. Since his departure, Lonestar has relied alternatingly on session and touring musicians for bass guitar accompaniment. McDonald exited the band in 2007 to record as a solo artist, and was replaced by former McAlyster vocalist Cody Collins before returning in 2011. He has collaborated with many musical groups, including America's Got Talent finalists The Robotix, The Heavy Pets, Eight53, and the Free World Jazz Ensemble. As a songwriter and bass player, he also has been an active teacher in several high-profile rock and jazz schools, such as the Rockin' Robin Music Center in Houston, Texas.
