The InfoMedia Albania Awards (often shortened to IMA Awards) is an Albanian and Kosovo television awards ceremony, initiated in 2011 by InfoMedia Albania. The InfoMedia Albania Awards are the most prominent ceremony for which the results are voted on by the general public.

Contents

The first ceremony was held in 2011 by voting at InfoMedia Albania Facebook FanPage. From 2014 onwards the voting process was held in InfoMedia Albania official site.

Voting process

The public vote is an online poll that takes place on the InfoMedia Albania website; viewers can select from a longlist of nominees, with the process verified by an independent adjudicator. The results are widely reported in the Albanian and Kosovo media with worldwide media coverage of some categories.

<i>Big Brother Albania</i> Albanian reality competition and TV series

Big Brother Albania is the Albanian version of the Dutch reality competition franchise Big Brother created by producer John de Mol in 1997. It follows a number of contestants, known as housemates, who are isolated from the outside world for an extended period of time in a custom-built house. Each week, one of the housemates is evicted by a public vote, with the last housemate remaining winning a cash prize. The series started airing on 24 February 2008 on Top Channel and it has had nine seasons to date. Arbana Osmani hosted the first seven seasons and the ninth season. Ledion Liço hosted the eighth season as Osmani was pregnant and took time off to be with her family.

The Miss Universe Albania is a national beauty pageant in Albania. The pageant was founded as Miss Albania in 2002, until rebranding as Miss Universe Albania in 2006.

The Anthem of the Republic of Kosovo is anthem of the Republic of Kosovo. It was composed by Mendi Mengjiqi. As with the national anthems of Bosnia and Herzegovina, San Marino, and Spain, it has no official lyrics, but de facto lyrics are in use. It was adopted on 11 June 2008. It was chosen because it contained no references to any specific ethnic group. It was selected by the Assembly of Kosovo, with 72 MPs voting in favor, while 15 voted against, and five abstained.

Behgjet Isa Pacolli is a Kosovar Albanian politician and businessman who served as the first deputy prime minister of Kosovo and minister of foreign affairs from 2017 to 2019 under the Ramush Haradinaj government. Pacolli is a former president of Kosovo, and served as the first deputy prime minister of Kosovo between 2011 and 2014. Pacolli was one of the signatories of the 2008 Kosovo declaration of independence.

The Kosovo Security Force is the military of Kosovo. KSF is tasked with defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Kosovo, military support for civilian authorities, and participation in international peacekeeping missions and operations. Since 2018, it is in the process of transforming into the Kosovo Armed Forces, a process that is expected to finish in 2028.

Local elections were held in Kosovo on 15 November and 13 December 2009. These were the first local elections to be held after Kosovo declared independence in February 2008. The elections were to elect mayors and municipal councils in 36 municipalities, and were contested by 37 ethnic Albanian parties and 21 Serbian lists. All citizens with a valid ID were able to vote in the elections.

The Cinematography in Kosovo in the Albanian language began its activities after the foundation of Kosovafilm, which produced short films, documentaries, cartoons and later feature films. Since 2008, the central authority for cinematography in Kosovo has been Kosova’s Cinematography Center (KCC) though there are numerous independent film companies active in Kosovo. Before Kosovafilm, there were no fully Kosovan films.

The Kosovo national under-21 football team is the national under-21 football team of Kosovo and is controlled by the Football Federation of Kosovo. The team is considered to be the feeder team for the Kosovo national team.

<i>Big Brother</i> (Albanian season 9) Season of an Albanian television series

Big Brother Albania 9, also known as Big Brother - Love Edition, was the ninth season of the Albanian television series of the worldwide franchise of Big Brother. It started on March 18, 2017 and ended on June 24, 2017 on Top Channel. The show ran for 99 days. The winner received 15,000,000 Leks (€100,000) and for the first time in the Big Brother Albania history the winner would be a couple. The winner couple was Danjel Dedndreaj & Fotini Derxho. The main host is again Arbana Osmani who returned for the eighth time, after taking the previous season off due to pregnancy.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">IN TV (Albania)</span> Television channel

IN TV is an Albanian private television network dedicated to the young audience. It was launched on 16 June 2014 as MAD Albania, a music channel. MAD Albania won the prize of "The Best Albanian Music Channel" at the IMA Awards 2015. Since 29 December 2015 the channel is known as IN TV, and it changed its programming into a general channel.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Miss Grand Kosovo</span> National beauty pageant in Kosovo

Miss Grand Kosovo is a national Beauty pageant in Kosovo founded by a Pristina-based event organizer chaired by Sherif Pacolli, Lens Production. The pageant winner represents the country at its international parent contest, Miss Grand International. From 2014 to 2018, the pageant was held in parallel with the Miss Grand Albania competition as Miss Grand Albania & Kosovo, but after Aleks Tanushi of Aleks Fashion Events (A.F.E.) took over the Albanian franchise in 2018, it was instead organized as a stand-alone pageant from 2019 to 2021.
