I Made Mangku Pastika AO (born 22 June 1951) [1] is an Indonesian politician and retired national police commissioner general,who later served as the 9th Governor of Bali from 2008 to 2018. Pastika was formerly the Chief of Bali Provincial Police and Chairman of Indonesia's National Narcotics Agency. He served as chief investigator in the 2002 and 2005 Bali bombings.
As chief of the Papua Provincial Police Department,his first assignment was to investigate the murder of Theys Eluay,a respected local Papuan spokesman,which resulted in the conviction and sentencing of four Kopassus soldiers. [2]
In October 2003,he was appointed as an Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia,"for service to Australia by heading the investigation into the bombings which occurred in Bali on 12 October 2002". [3]
Pastika was elected to a second five-year term as Governor of Bali in May 2013. [4] His second term ended on 29 August 2018,and he was briefly replaced by an acting official from the Ministry of Home Affairs before being succeeded by I Wayan Koster. [5]
A series of bombings occurred on 12 October 2002 in the tourist district of Kuta on the Indonesian island of Bali. The attack killed 202 people. A further 209 people were injured.

Joged dance is a style of dance from the Island of Bali derived from the traditional Gandrung dance. The term joged or joget is also a common word for dance in Indonesia. The dance is typically accompanied by a gamelan ensemble of bamboo instruments called a gamelan joged bumbung. Dancers usually wear attire consisting of a Kebaya and Sarong Unlike most Balinese dance,joged is not a religious and ritual one,it is a secular social dance for entertainment purposes only. During a joged performance,a single or several female dancers will perform for usually predominantly male audience to dance with them. Dancers may often invite a spectator to join in the joged using a fan and sash. which unlike many dances has no set moves and is largely improvised. It is considered impolite to refuse such an invitation.

A series of terrorist suicide bomb and a series of car bombs and attacks occurred on 1 October 2005 in Bali,Indonesia. Bombs exploded at two sites in Jimbaran Beach Resort and in Kuta 30 km (19 mi) away,both in south Bali. The terrorist attack claimed the lives of 20 people and injured more than 100 others. Bali Mandara Toll Road or Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai-Benoa Toll Road is a toll road carried by a bridge stretching across the Gulf of Benoa. The 12.7-kilometre (7.9 mi) highway connects the city of Denpasar and South Kuta,Badung Regency,Nusa Dua and Ngurah Rai International Airport. It cost Rp 2.48 Trillion to construct and was intended to prevent traffic jams on the Ngurah Rai Bypass Road,previously the only road connecting areas of Bali on opposite sites of the airport. The Ngurah Rai Bypass Road,a land-based route,could not be widened because of the location of the airport runway;the new toll road was instead constructed over water.
