The 2012 Aberdeen City Council election took place on 3 May 2012 to elect members of Aberdeen City Council. The election used the 13 wards created as a result of the Local Governance (Scotland) Act 2004,with each ward electing three or four Councillors using the single transferable vote system a form of proportional representation,with 43 Councillors elected.
A general election was held in the United Kingdom on 9 April 1992 and all 72 seats in Scotland were contested. Two Scottish seats changed parties during the election;Aberdeen South and Kincardine and Deeside. Both seats were gained by the Conservatives. Kincardine and Deeside had been lost by the Conservatives to the Liberal Democrats in the last by-election of the parliament.

Elections to Aberdeen City Council took place on 5 May 2022 on the same day as the 31 other Scottish local government elections. The election used the 13 wards created following the fifth statutory review of electoral arrangements conducted by Local Government Boundary Commission for Scotland in 2016,with 45 councillors elected. Each ward elected either three or four councillors,using the STV electoral system.
