Isaac (Ike) Anderson (born December 22, 1957) is an American former Greco-Roman wrestler who competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics at 62 kg. He was also a former Greco-Roman developmental coach for USA Wrestling. [1] [2]

Wrestling career

Anderson attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, where he was a Southern Conference wrestling champion and qualified for the NCAA wrestling championships. He earned degrees in recreation and physical education. [3] Anderson also wrestled for Broward Community College in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. [4] In 1990, he was inducted into the Appalachian State Athletics Hall of Fame. [5]

Anderson was 6th at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea in Greco-Roman wrestling at 62 kg. [3] He won three U.S. National titles in Greco-Roman wrestling, was a national runner-up four times, and took silver at 62 kg at the 1991 Pan American Games in Havana, Cuba. He also earned medals at the Wrestling World Cup and the Pan American Wrestling Championships. [3] [6]

In total, Byers won three World medals and was a two-time Olympian. He was inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as a Distinguished Member in 2021.

Mnatsakan Iskandaryan is a former Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler who competed for the Soviet Union and Russia. He earned the rank Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR in 1991 and was named Honoured Coach of Russia in 2000. In 2012, Iskandaryan was inducted into the FILA Hall of Fame as the sole Greco-Roman inductee. He's the second Armenian to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, after Armen Nazaryan.

James Matthew Gruenwald is a retired amateur American Greco-Roman wrestler, who competed in the men's lightweight category. He won three U.S. national titles, picked up a bronze medal in the 60-kg division at the 2003 Pan American Games, and represented the United States in two editions of the Olympic Games, finishing sixth in Sydney and tenth in Athens respectively. Since his sporting career ended in late 2004, Gruenwald served as an assistant coach for the Greco-Roman wrestling team at the United States Olympic Training Center in Marquette, Michigan from 2005 - 2009, and currently, heads the Wheaton College wrestling program in Illinois.

James Lee Johnson was an American Greco-Roman wrestler and coach. As an athlete, he won a gold medal at the Pan American Championships in 1986 and was a member of three US Greco-Roman World Teams. Johnson later served as the head Greco-Roman coach for the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club and was a coach for the US Greco-Roman 2012 Olympic team.
