Internacionale was a British clothing retailer with stores throughout the United Kingdom, including stores which were acquired from the former clothing chain MK One in 2008. It sold women's wear including dresses, tops, jeans, trousers, jackets and jewellery.
The company was created by Ken Cairnduff, a Scottish businessman in 1980 and grew to become known as Internacionale. [1] The business was sold in 2006 to a management buyout, which at the time had 150 stores. [2]
The company entered administration for the third time since 2008 on 28 February 2014. In September 2014, Edinburgh Woollen Mill agreed to purchase the intellectual property of Internacionale. [3]
Asda Stores Ltd. is a British supermarket chain. Its headquarters are in Leeds, England. The company was founded in 1949 when the Asquith family merged their retail business with the Associated Dairies company of Yorkshire. It expanded into Southern England during the 1970s and 1980s, and acquired Allied Carpets, 61 large Gateway Supermarkets and other businesses, such as MFI Group. It sold these acquisitions during the 1990s to concentrate on the supermarkets. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange until 1999 when it was acquired by Walmart for £6.7 billion. It was best known for being the previous parent company of British Home Stores (BHS), Burton, Dorothy Perkins, Debenhams, Evans, Miss Selfridge, Topman, Topshop, Wallis and Warehouse. At its peak, the group had more than 2,500 outlets in the UK and concessions in UK department stores and several hundred franchises operated internationally.
Burton is a British online clothing retailer and former high street retailer specialising in men's clothing and footwear. The company was a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index, but became a trading name of Arcadia Group Brands Ltd, part of the Arcadia Group. Sir Philip Green acquired the Arcadia Group in 2002, and it became the sole owner of Burton. David Deas Stevenson is a Scottish former athlete. He competed for Great Britain in the men's pole vault at the 1964 Summer Olympics, where he placed 20th. He was also a successful businessman, serving as managing director of Edinburgh Woollen Mill from 1970 to 1997.
