Lieutenant General Jay Bhagwan Singh Yadava (abbreviated as J.B.S.Yadava) [1] (PVSM, AVSM, Vir Chakra, VSM) [2] is a retired General of the Indian Army.
Yadava was commissioned into the 11th Gorkha Rifles of the Indian Army in 1964. He participated in the wars of 1965 and 1971. [3] He was awarded the Vir Chakra for his bravery for his significant contribution in the Bangladesh Liberation War. [4] From 1992 to 1994, he commanded the Rastriya Rifles against militancy in the state. [5] He has also been the Deputy Chief of the Army Staff (India) from September 2002 to February 2005. [6] [7]
Admiral Laxminarayan Ramdas, PVSM, AVSM, VrC, VSM, ADC served as Chief of Naval Staff of the Indian Navy, taking the reins on 30 November 1990. Ramdas has served as Aam Aadmi Party's internal lokpal.
The 11 Gorkha Rifles is a Gorkha regiment of the Indian Army that was re-raised after independence. The regiment consists of primarily the Kirant Tribes Rai, Limbu, Yakkha, Sunuwar of Eastern Nepal, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Dooars of West Bengal, Sikkim and other parts of Northeast India. Though it is considered to be the youngest of the Gorkha regiments its lineage is as long as those of the 7th Gurkha Rifles and 10th Gurkha Rifles.

The XVI Corps is a corps of the Indian Army raised on 1 June 1972 with Lieutenant General J F R Jacob as its first General Officer Commanding (GOC). It has its headquarters at Nagrota Cantonment,, Jammu and Kashmir. In 2005, IX Corps was raised in southern part of the XVI Corps' area, taking over two of its divisions.
