Mayhew sat out his rookie season due to a wrist injury and joined the Washington Redskins a year later, with whom he won Super Bowl XXVI with, and later played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring following the 1996 season.

Drafted by the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft, Bakhtiari played with the Packers until his release after the 2023 season.
