Jackie Beat (born July 24, 1963) is the drag persona of actor, singer, songwriter and screenwriter Kent Fuher. Beat has appeared in a number of independent feature films both in and out of drag, including Wigstock: The Movie , Flawless , and Adam & Steve (for which he also wrote and performed the song "Dance Off"). In television, Beat has appeared on Sex and the City and was a writer for the short-lived sketch comedy series Hype on The WB Television Network.

Contents

Beat was a fixture on the New York City cabaret scene [1] and performs sold-out Gay Pride and Christmas runs every year. She has performed at clubs such as Martinis Above Fourth in San Diego, CA; Executive Suite in Long Beach, CA; Hamburger Mary's in West Hollywood; [2] Cavern Club in Silver Lake; [2] Badlands in Sacramento, CA; Re-bar and Julia's Restaurant in Seattle, WA; and the Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City. She has also appeared at Bob's Comedy Funhouse in Cardiff, Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester, and London; 170 Russell in Melbourne, Australia; FAMILY in Brisbane, Australia, and numerous other venues.

In 2015, Beat was the host of Seattle Pride’s Pride Parade. [3]

In March of 2019, Beat appeared as Bea Arthur at an event called The MisMatch Game, hosted by Dennis Hensley, for the Los Angeles LGBT Center's 15th Anniversary celebration. [4] [5] [6] Beat frequently performs as both Arthur and her Golden Girls character Dorothy Zbornak, notably in the parody theater show The Golden Gurlz.

Early life

Beat was born Kent Fuher on July 24, 1963 to Jack and Liliana Fuher. She debuted her drag persona at Los Angeles's Café Largo in the late 1980s. [10]

Music

Beat is the lead singer of the Electroclash band Dirty Sanchez. She has also released 7 albums as a solo artist, primarily R-rated parodies of mainstream songs.

Personal life

Beat lived in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles for many years. She sold her home there in 2016 [11] and currently resides in Altadena, California. [12] She is a vocal supporter of President Barack Obama [2] and a harsh critic of figures such as Donald Trump [13] [14] and former presidential hopeful Sarah Palin.

Chico's Angels is a live comedy production in Los Angeles which parodies the 1976–1981 television series Charlie's Angels. "Trump: The Rusical" is the fourth episode of the eleventh season of the American reality competition television series RuPaul's Drag Race, which aired on VH1 on March 21, 2019. The episode has contestants deliver Rachel Maddow impressions for the mini challenge, and perform a musical parody of Grease about Donald Trump and the women in his life and cabinet for the main challenge. The musical features choreography by Yanis Marshall, and sees Donald Trump portrayed by former contestant Ginger Minj. Maddow appears as a special guest; Joel McHale and Tiffany Pollard serve as guest judges, alongside regular panelists RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Ross Mathews.

Patti Harrison is an American actress and comedian. She is best known for her roles in comedy series such as Shrill (2019–2021) and I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson (2019–present), as well as the comedy film Together Together (2021), with the latter earning her a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.

Wang Newton is a professional drag king and Asian LGBT figure whilst running "Wang TV" on YouTube. They were featured in a 2021 New York Times article by Frank DeCaro profiling notable American drag kings. Performing since 2004, "Dr. Wang" is one of the few full-time drag king performers with an international profile.

Karinda Dobbins is an American comedian. She co-produces the monthly comedy show The Resistance! alongside Dhaya Lakshminarayanan, has regularly opened for W. Kamau Bell, and additionally opened for Trevor Noah, Gina Yashere, Michelle Wolf, and Dave Chappelle. She has performed at festivals such as the Desi Comedy Fest, the Portland Queer Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, and Comedy Central's Colossal Clusterfest. In 2019, SFist named her one of their 13 San Francisco Standup Comedians to Go See Now.

"The Bitchelor", stylized with the "i" as an eggplant emoji, is the third episode of the third season of the American drag queen-focused reality competition television series RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, which aired on VH1 February 8, 2018. The season's eight remaining contestants impersonate stereotyped characters on a The Bachelor-style improvisation acting challenge. Constance Zimmer and Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, both from Unreal, itself a parody of The Bachelor-type shows, serve as guest judges, alongside regular panelists RuPaul, Michelle Visage, and Ross Mathews. Like the rest of the season, the show has a themed fashion runway challenge, and the contestants get feedback on both challenges. The top two queens vie in a lip sync battle with the winner choosing which contestant is eliminated.
