James Henry (born March 11, 1991) is a Canadian former ice hockey left winger. He previously served as head coach of the Reading Royals (ECHL) and as the captain for the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. [1]
Henry was selected into the Western Hockey League (WHL) 187th overall by the Vancouver Giants in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft. He began his major junior career with the Giants in 2007-08, recording 15 points in 46 games played. That same year, he was selected by Canada Western U17 (WHC-17), recording 3 points and winning a bronze medal. [2] He finished his career in Vancouver as the Giants' Captain in 2012 before being traded to the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL, where he recorded 30 points in 28 games played. Currently, Henry is the Vancouver Giants' single season short-handed goals leader with 6 (from the 2009-10 campaign), ranks 5th in games played with 281 (2006–12), and ranks 5th in penalty minutes with 57 (2006–12). Notably, on March 20, 2010, the Giants and Kamloops Blazers combined for the fastest three goals in WHL playoff history. Craig Cunningham scored at 3:58 of the 3rd period for Vancouver, James Henry scored at 4:14 for Vancouver, and Dalibor Bortnak scored at 4:21 for Kamloops. The Giants won 6-3. [3]
He had a short stint with the University of Manitoba of the CIS in 2012-13 (Canadian Interuniversity Sport), where he was awarded the CIS (West) Most Outstanding Freshman (University of Alberta Hockey Alumni Trophy) and was named to the CIS All-Rookie Team. [4]
Henry spent two seasons with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL (2013–15); Henry followed the organization when it moved to Glens Falls, NY, for the 2016 season. Henry played for the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL for 5 seasons, serving as the team's Captain from 2018–20, where he is the franchise's all-time points, assists, games played, single-season assists, and single-season points leader. [5] Henry was invited to the 2016-17 ECHL All-Star Game and received the ECHL Community Service Award 2018-19. [6]
In April 2022, Henry was inducted into the Adirondack Hockey Hall of Fame's 2022 Class alongside Claude Loiselle, and Mike Kane. [7]
In the summer of 2021, Henry was named as the first head coach of the Binghamton Black Bears of the Federal Professional Hockey League before resigning to accept a position as the Reading Royals assistant coach. [8]
Henry served as the Reading Royals assistant coach under head coach Kirk Macdonald 2021–22. In 2022, MacDonald left his position and Henry was promoted to the head coach and director of hockey operations for the 2022–23 season. [9]

Nolan Baumgartner is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman. He was formerly an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Baumgartner was selected by the Washington Capitals in the 1st round of the 1994 NHL Entry Draft. He played parts of ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for six different teams between 1995 and 2010. Baumgartner played only one full season in the NHL, 2005–06 with the Vancouver Canucks, and spent most of his playing career in the AHL.
The Vancouver Giants are a major junior ice hockey team playing in the Western Hockey League (WHL). Inaugurated in 2001–02, the Giants have won one Ed Chynoweth Cup in 2006 and one Memorial Cup in 2007. Their home rink was the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, an arena previously used by the National Hockey League (NHL)'s Vancouver Canucks. Effective with the 2016–17 season, the team relocated to the Langley Events Centre in the Township of Langley, in the eastern part of Metro Vancouver.

Bill LaForge was a Canadian ice hockey head coach. LaForge briefly coached the Vancouver Canucks in National Hockey League, but enjoyed more success in junior ice hockey with Western Hockey League and the Ontario Hockey League teams. LaForge was known for his controversial coaching style, intimidation tactics, on-ice brawls, suspensions and fines. Teams he coached were known for physical play, and high scoring. Notable players coached by LaForge in junior ice hockey include; Shayne Corson, Keith Primeau, Dean Evason, Gary Leeman, Tony Tanti, Brad May, Ken Daneyko, Doug Bodger, Garth Butcher, and Rob Brown. LaForge died June 19, 2005, after an apparent heart attack.
Colin Long is an American professional ice hockey center who is currently playing for the Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL. He was drafted by the Phoenix Coyotes in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, 99th overall.
Garet Hunt is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger currently under contract with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL.
Casey Pierro-Zabotel is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He most recently played for the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, 80th overall, out of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL). Playing major junior with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL), he set franchise single-season records in 2008–09 with 79 assists and 115 points, en route to a Bob Clarke Trophy as the league's leading scorer.
Craig Alvin Cunningham is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played with the Boston Bruins and Arizona Coyotes in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Boston Bruins, 97th overall in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft, before being called up to the Bruins in December 2013.
Matt Marquardt is a retired Canadian ice hockey left winger. He most recently played for the Jacksonville Icemen of the ECHL. Marquardt was selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 7th round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
