James Jessop (born 1974) is a British contemporary artist. He trained at The Royal College of Art (RCA) and Coventry University. He lectures at City and Guilds of London Art School.

His work is influenced by early New York City Subway art and pop culture. He mainly works on large scale canvasses with oil paint, mocking Spoof Horror B-Movie posters. [1] His diptych painting, Fused Foot Star, is in the collection of the RCA. [2]

While working as a security guard, he exhibited in Charles Saatchi's March 2004 New Blood exhibition. [3]

Jessop was shortlisted for the £25,000 Threadneedle Prize at the Mall Galleries, London in 2010. [4]

His 2010 solo show, Beauty and the Beast , at High Roller Society in London included some of his largest works to date, designed to make an impact, still fusing street art with more traditional mediums. [1]

Jessop has worked extensively with Polo Ralph Lauren Jeans in the past year as part of their Art Stars project. [5]

In May 2012 Jessop was featured on BBC 1's The Apprentice UK where the team was challenged to sell the work of various Urban Artists. [6]

The Saatchi Gallery is a London gallery for contemporary art and an independent charity opened by Charles Saatchi in 1985. Exhibitions which drew upon the collection of Charles Saatchi, starting with US artists and minimalism, moving to the Damien Hirst-led Young British Artists, followed by shows purely of painting, led to Saatchi Gallery becoming a recognised authority in contemporary art globally. It has occupied different premises, first in North London, then the South Bank by the River Thames, and finally in Chelsea, Duke of York's HQ, its current location. In 2019 Saatchi Gallery became a registered charity and begun a new chapter in its history. Recent exhibitions include the major solo exhibition of the artist JR, JR: Chronicles, and London Grads Now in September 2019 lending the gallery spaces to graduates from leading fine art schools who experienced the cancellation of physical degree shows due to the pandemic.

Jennifer Anne Saville is a contemporary British painter and an original member of the Young British Artists. Saville works and lives in Oxford, England and she is known for her large-scale painted depictions of nude women. Saville has been credited with originating a new and challenging method of painting the female nude and reinventing figure painting for contemporary art. Some paintings are of small dimensions, while other are of much larger scale. Monumental subjects come from pathology textbooks that she has studied that informed her on injury to bruise, burns, and deformity. John Gray commented: "As I see it, Jenny Saville's work expresses a parallel project of reclaiming the body from personality. Saville worked with many models who under went cosmetic surgery to reshape a portion of their body. In doing that, she captures "marks of personality for the flesh" and together embraces how we can be the writers of our own lives."

Lionel Edwards was a British artist who specialised in painting horses and other aspects of British country life. He is best known for his hunting scenes but also painted pictures of horse racing, shooting and fishing. He provided illustrations for Country Life, The Sphere, The Graphic and numerous books.

The Rosy Wilde gallery was an artist-run project space, established in 2003 by British artist Stella Vine in a former butcher's shop below her house in east London, to showcase work by emerging artists. The gallery was not making money and Vine was expecting bailiffs, when one of her paintings of Diana, Princess of Wales, was bought by art collector Charles Saatchi to star in his New Blood show. This solved Vine's financial problems. The gallery was sold at auction in October 2004 and, in 2006, Vine opened a gallery of the same name in central London's Soho district. It closed some time later.

In 2018 Jessop exhihibited at the Artmossphere Biennale in Moscow. During 2019 he was commissioned to make a new work to go on permanent display in Milton Keynes Central Library where today it is seen by around 20,000 people every month
