James Maness (born May 1, 1963) is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL).

Maness was born and raised in Decatur, Texas and played scholastically at Decatur High School. [1] He played college football for the TCU Horned Frogs, [2] where, as a senior, he was honored by the Associated Press as a third-team All-American. [3]

Maness was selected by the Bears in the third round of the 1985 NFL draft, [4] and was a member of the Bears team that won Super Bowl XX. [5] [6]
