Janata Television is a TV channel of Nepal which was launched on 2017. [1] [2] The headquarters of the channel is situated in Kathmandu, Nepal. [3] [4] Janata Network is the owner of the channel.

The Nepalese Civil War was a protracted armed conflict that took place in the former Kingdom of Nepal from 1996 to 2006. It saw countrywide fighting between the Nepalese royal government and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist), with the latter making significant use of guerrilla warfare. The conflict began on 13 February 1996, when the CPN (Maoist) initiated an insurgency with the stated purpose of overthrowing the Nepalese monarchy and establishing a people's republic; it ended with the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Accord on 21 November 2006.

The Image Channel is a private television channel in Nepal. It is owned by Image Group of Companies, which also run FM station and located in Lazimpat, Kathmandu. It produces several kinds of news programs, talkshows, entertainment shows, teleserials, etc. Image Channel went on air with a 1+12-hour block through Nepal Television on 25 January 1997. Its initial programs were focused on pop music, women, celebrity and fashion. Programs such as Image Pop, Button & Trades, AM Guest and Srijana ko Sansar gained huge popularity among the audiences.

The 2019 South Asian Games, officially the XIII South Asian Games, was a major multi-sport event which was originally slated to be held from 9 to 18 March 2019 in Kathmandu and Pokhara, Nepal. However, the dates were postponed and the event was held from 1–10 December 2019, coincidentally at the same time as the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines. The new dates were confirmed at the South Asian Olympic Council Executive Board meeting in Bangkok on 1 March 2019. The Dasarath Stadium hosted the opening ceremony along with the men's football tournament, with the stadium's renovation after the 2015 earthquake completed in under 10 months with an increased capacity of 20,000, along with the closing ceremony on 10 December.
