The Japan national beach soccer team represents Japan in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the JFA, the governing body for football in Japan. One of the leading Asian beach soccer teams, Japan's best performance at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was in the 2021 edition, when they were runners-up to the hosts Russia, which played as the Russian Football Union (RFU).

  1. The Asian qualifiers were originally due to take place in Thailand from 18–28 March 2021. [4] [5] Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they were initially postponed to between 28 April and 8 May, [6] and were subsequently cancelled entirely in January 2021. [7] In place of the qualifiers, the AFC handpicked their three representatives to go to the World Cup on 21 April, choosing the best performing nations over the course of the previous three editions of the AFC Beach Soccer Championship. [8]

The United Arab Emirates national beach soccer team represents United Arab Emirates in beach soccer. They are one of the most successful Asian national teams, having won twice the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup. The year before the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the national team is renamed the Japan national under-19 football team, and the year before that, the national team is renamed the Japan national under-18 football team.

The Japan national under-23 football team is a national association football youth team of Japan and is controlled by the Japan Football Association. The team won the gold medal at the 2010 Asian Games and were champions in the 2016 AFC U-23 Championship. Since 1992, it was decided that teams targeting athletes under the age of 23 will participate in the Olympics. Therefore, the name changes to Japan national under-22 football team the year before the Olympics and Japan national under-21 football team two years prior. The exception to this was the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which was postponed one year, so in 2021, the team was called the Japan national under-24 football team.

The Oman national beach soccer team represents Oman in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the Oman Football Association, the governing body for football in Oman.

The Paraguay national beach soccer team represents Paraguay in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the APF, the governing body for football in Paraguay. The team debuted in 2013 at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and has been classified since then in all editions as of 2017. Regionally, Paraguay has been one of the strongest teams in South America since 2013.

The 2021 FIFA U-20 World Cup was to be the 23rd edition of the FIFA U-20 World Cup, the biennial international men's youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA, since its inception in 1977 as the FIFA World Youth Championship. It was scheduled to be hosted by Indonesia between 21 May and 12 June 2021, which would have been the first FIFA tournament hosted by the country. It would have been also only the second U-20 World Cup to be held in Southeast Asia, first since 1997, and the first FIFA tournament in the region since the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup.

The Japan eNational football team represents Japan in international esport competitions and is controlled by the Japan Football Association, the governing body for football, futsal, beach soccer and esports in Japan.
