Jason Miller (born July 24, 1976 in Detroit, Michigan) is an American rabbi and entrepreneur. Miller is the president of Access Technology, in West Bloomfield Township, Michigan, an IT and social media marketing company.
Miller attended Andover High School (Michigan), [2] graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor's degree in international relations and then attended the Jewish Theological Seminary where he became an ordained rabbi and earned a master's degree in education. At JTS, Miller was named the first recipient of the Gladstein Fellowship. [3]
In addition to heading a technology company, he also is the founder and director of his own kosher certification agency, Kosher Michigan. [4]
Along with a monthly technology column for The Detroit Jewish News , Miller blogs about the intersection of technology and Judaism for the JewishTechs.com blog, The Huffington Post , Time.com and his own blog, which launched in March 2003.
A 2011 parody on YouTube [5] of Texas Governor Rick Perry's presidential campaign commercial which critics considered anti-gay, gave Miller international attention, with coverage in several print and online media outlets including The Washington Post , The Jewish Daily Forward , [6] CNN, Jewish Journal, [7] Der Spiegel Online, [8] Miami Herald , [9] JTA, [10] and the USA Today . Miller was listed as the ninth most influential person on "Jewish Twitter" by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in 2016 [12] and was one of ten winners of a Jewish influencer award from the National Jewish Outreach Program in January 2012. [13] He was chosen as the Community of Excellence Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater West Bloomfield Chamber of Commerce in April 2012. Miller was also cited as one of the top Jewish Twitter users by The Huffington Post [14] and was referred to as "the most technologically savvy Jewish leader in Detroit" by the Detroit Free Press . Frankel Jewish Academy(FJA), named after its major benefactors Jean and Samuel Frankel, is a college-preparatory independent Jewish day school in West Bloomfield, a city in the Detroit metropolitan area. Magen Tzedek, originally known as Hekhsher Tzedek, is a complementary certification for kosher food produced in the United States in a way that meets Jewish Halakhic (legal) standards for workers, consumers, animals, and the environment, as understood by Conservative Judaism. Moshe D. Gutnick is an Australian Orthodox rabbi, and a member of the ultra Orthodox Chabad Hasidic movement. Rabbi Gutnick is a senior member of the Beth Din in Sydney, Australia. Gutnick is currently President of the Rabbinical Council of Australia and New Zealand. Gutnick is the head of the NSW Kashrut Authority. Chabad hipsters are the cross-acculturated members of the Chabad Hasidic community and contemporary hipster subculture. Beginning from the late 2000s through the 2010s, a minor trend of cross acculturation of Chabad Hasidism and hipster subculture appeared within the New York Jewish community. Noah Jeremy Arbit is an American politician who has served as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives since 2023. A member of the Democratic Party, Arbit represents Michigan's 20th House District, anchored in West Bloomfield Township, alongside Keego Harbor, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, and portions of Commerce and Bloomfield townships. First elected in the November 2022 general election, Arbit is the youngest LGBTQ+ person ever elected to serve in the Michigan Legislature.
