Jerome "Jerry" Selinger (July 17, 1935 - June 16, 2017) [1] was a Canadian football player who played for the Ottawa Rough Riders. He won the Grey Cup with them in 1960, 1968 and 1969. [2] He played college football at St. Joseph's College in Indiana, winning a national title as a member of the Pumas' 1956 squad.

Jerome Abram Bettis Sr. is a former American football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons, primarily with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nicknamed "The Bus" for his large size and running style, he was selected tenth overall by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1993 NFL Draft. Bettis was a member of the Rams for three seasons before being traded to the Steelers, where he spent the remainder of his career. A six-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro, he is regarded as one of the best power runners of all time and ranks eighth in NFL rushing yards. He retired in 2006 after helping the Steelers win a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XL over the Seattle Seahawks, the franchise's first in over two decades. Bettis was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2015.

Troy Kenneth Aikman is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. After transferring from Oklahoma, he won the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year at UCLA and was selected first overall by the Cowboys in the 1989 NFL Draft. As the Cowboys' longest-tenured quarterback, Aikman received six Pro Bowl selections and won three Super Bowl titles from 1992 to 1995. Aikman was named MVP of Super Bowl XXVII, the franchise's first title in over a decade. He was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.

The 1956 Saint Joseph's Pumas football team was an American football team that represented Saint Joseph's College of Rensselaer, Indiana as a member of the Indiana Collegiate Conference (ICC) during the 1956 NAIA football season. In their third year under head coach Bob Jauron, the Pumas compiled an 8–1–1 record, won the ICC championship, and outscored opponents by a total of 360 to 32. Saint Joseph's tied with Montana State in the 1956 Aluminum Bowl. The two teams were declared co-winners of the 1956 NAIA Football National Championship.
