James Wayne "Jim" Tucker is a former Republican member of the Louisiana House of Representatives,representing the 86th District from 2002 to 2012. He served as Speaker of the House during his tenure. [1]
In 2011,Tucker ran for Louisiana Secretary of State but was defeated in the primary by Tom Schedler,who received 449,616 votes,50.47% of the vote,compared to Tuckers 441,170 votes,49.53% of the vote. [2]
In 2015,Tucker was named CEO of CommCare Corp.,a company that manages gereatric care and is based in New Orleans. [3]

Since no candidate received a majority of the vote during the primary election,a runoff election was held on November 21,2015 between the top two candidates in the primary.
