Barcelona is a city on the coast of northeastern Spain. It is the capital and largest city of the autonomous community of Catalonia, as well as the second most populous municipality of Spain. With a population of 1.6 million within city limits, its urban area extends to numerous neighbouring municipalities within the Province of Barcelona and is home to around 4.8 million people, making it the fifth most populous urban area in the European Union after Paris, the Ruhr area, Madrid, and Milan. It is one of the largest metropolises on the Mediterranean Sea, located on the coast between the mouths of the rivers Llobregat and Besòs, and bounded to the west by the Serra de Collserola mountain range, the tallest peak of which is 512 metres high.
L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Catalan pronunciation: [luspitəˈlɛd də ʎuβɾəˈɣat; ˌlɔs-], often shortened to L'Hospitalet or just L'H, is a municipality of Spain, located to the immediate southwest of Barcelona, in the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is part of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.

He founded Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura in 1963 and developed it into a leading international architectural and urban design practice. According to architectural historian Andrew Ayers, his creations rank "among the most impressive buildings of the 20th century."

RCDE Stadium, also known as Estadi Cornellà-El Prat, is an all-seater football stadium on the outskirts of Cornellà de Llobregat and El Prat de Llobregat, in the wider Barcelona urban area. It took three years to build and cost approximately €60 million. Opened in August 2009, it was awarded as Venue of the Year getting the Stadium Business Awards on 18 June 2010 in Dublin.
Bellvitge is a mostly working-class neighborhood in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, belonging to the metropolitan area of Barcelona. It is part of L'Hospitalet's District VI, along with Gornal.
The R1 is a line of Rodalies de Catalunya's Barcelona commuter rail service, operated by Renfe Operadora. It runs northwards from the Barcelona area to the southern limits of the province of Girona, passing through the coastal Maresme region. Since 2014, some services have been extended further north towards Portbou, near the French border. These services are designated RG1 and are considered part of the Girona commuter rail service. The line had an annual ridership of 28 million in 2016, achieving an average weekday ridership of 102,214 according to 2008 data.
The R10 was a line of Rodalies de Catalunya's Barcelona commuter rail service, operated by Renfe Operadora. It linked half-hourly Barcelona–El Prat Airport with Barcelona's Estació de França, using the Aragó Tunnel through central Barcelona, calling at Sants and Passeig de Gràcia stations. R10 services spanned 22 kilometres (14 mi) of railway lines and six stations. At the time it suspended services, the trains used on the line were Civia electrical multiple units (EMU).

Among his most known projects are the Vertical Forest in Milan, the Villa Méditerranée in Marseille, and the House of the Sea of La Maddalena. He is the professor of urban planning at Polytechnic University of Milan.

The Llobregat Delta is the delta of the Llobregat river, located near the city of Barcelona, Catalonia, northeastern Spain. The current delta has been altered by farming, urban development, industrialisation and transport infrastructures such as the Port of Barcelona and the Barcelona El Prat Airport.
The B-10, also known as Ronda Litoral, is a 20-kilometre (12.43 mi) freeway in Catalonia, Spain partially encircling Barcelona passing through the eastern side of the city. It starts at Nus de la Trinitat interchange in northern Barcelona and runs along the entire length of the Besòs River and the city's coastline south to Nus del Llobregat interchange in Barcelona's southern suburbs, where it becomes the Autovía A-2. Both north and south end interchanges link the freeway to the B-20 or Ronda de Dalt, which encircles Barcelona passing through the western side, jointly forming a beltway commonly referred to as the rondes that surrounds the city.
Alessandra Cianchetta is an Italian architect, designer, artist, curator, urban strategist and author. Cianchetta is the founder and director of AWP AWILDC. She formerly co-founded AWP France of which she is currently shareholder. Her achievements include a masterplan for developing an area of 161 hectares in Paris's La Défense business district.

Maria Rubert de Ventós is a Spanish architect, winner of the 2004 National Urban Planning Award. Among other works, she was co-designer of the expansion of the Palacio de las Cortes in 1994 and was project director for the Olympic Village on Barcelona's Avinguda Diagonal. In 2011, she became the first female university professor of Urban Planning in Spain.

Guillermo Busquets Vautravers was a Spanish architect and footballer who played as a midfielder for Català FC, which he had co-founded. He is best known for his intervention in the urban design of the official section of the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition.
