Jocelyn Gould is a Canadian jazz guitarist. Her album, Elegant Traveler was awarded the 2021 Juno Award for Jazz Album of the Year - Solo. [1] She is also the 1st place winner of the 2018 Wilson Centre International Jazz Guitar competition. [2] [3]

She is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, and later received her Master's of Music at Michigan State University where she studied with Randy Napoleon. [1] [4] [5] Gould has performed alongside many notable musicians including Freddy Cole, Jodi Proznick, Laila Biali, Allison Au, and Will Bonness. [6] [7] [2] [8]

Gould is a faculty member and Head of the Guitar Department at Humber College. [2] Her debut album Elegant Traveler was released in 2020, and her second album Golden Hour was released in 2022. [9]

Manitoba has produced much Canadian music, especially since the early 1960s.

Bruce Earl Fairbairn was a Canadian record producer. He was active as a producer from 1976 to 1999, and is considered one of the best of his era. His most successful productions are Slippery When Wet and New Jersey by Bon Jovi, Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip by Aerosmith, The Razors Edge by AC/DC, and Balance by Van Halen, each of which sold at least three million copies. He was originally a trumpet player, then started a career as a record producer for Canadian rock band Prism. Fairbairn won the Canadian music industry Producer of the Year Juno Award three times. He produced albums for many well-known international artists such as Loverboy, Blue Öyster Cult, Bon Jovi, Poison, Aerosmith, AC/DC, Scorpions, Van Halen, Chicago, The Cranberries, INXS, Kiss and Yes. His style was notable for introducing dynamic horn arrangements into rock music productions. Fairbairn died suddenly on May 17, 1999, due to unknown causes.

Eagle & Hawk is a Canadian First Nations rock group based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, active since 1994. They are most noted for winning the Juno Award for Best Music of Aboriginal Canada Recording in 2002 for their album On and On. The band had numerous members throughout its history, with guitarist Vince Fontaine as the primary and constant member.

Bill Coon is a Canadian jazz and composer. He is a Juno nominated artist and the winner of the 2009 National Jazz Awards, ‘Guitarist of the Year’. He is known for performing artists such as Miles Black and Jodi Proznick, Lonnie Smith, Brad Turner, Peter Bernstein, Bucky Pizzarelli, Ian McDougall, P. J. Perry, Sheila Jordan, Phil Dwyer, Peter Washington, and Oliver Gannon. His compositions and arrangements have been commissioned by large ensembles such as the CBC Radio Orchestra, John Korsrud's Hard Rubber Orchestra, and the Dal Richards Orchestra.
