The Islands District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is part of the New Territories. It had a population of 170,900 in 2018.
Hong Kong has a long coastline that is full of twists and turns with many bays and beaches. Many of them are well sheltered by mountains nearby, as Hong Kong is a mountainous place. As a result, large waves seldom appear at the bays, making them suitable for human swimming.

The Sai Kung District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. Hong Kong itself is a special administrative region of China. The district comprises the southern half of Sai Kung Peninsula and Clear Water Bay Peninsula in the New Territories plus a strip to the east of Kowloon. It is made up of the Sai Kung Town, Sai Kung rural areas, Tseung Kwan O and over 70 islands of different sizes. The administrative centre was located in Sai Kung Town until recently, which the Sai Kung District Office was relocated to Tseung Kwan O. The district's population is concentrated in Tseung Kwan O, as of 2011. As of 2011, the district has the third youngest residents, with median age 39.3. Known as the "back garden of Hong Kong", Sai Kung has been able to retain its natural scenery, and where the Hong Kong Global Geopark is located. Behind the modern buildings, many traditional customs and cultures are still retained in the rural villages.
Kau Sai Chau is an island located in Sai Kung Peninsula, Hong Kong, with an area of 6.70 km², making it the 6th largest island of Hong Kong. It is under the administration of Sai Kung District, but not under the sub-area Sai Kung Town.
Hoi Ha Wan or Jone's Cove is a bay at the north of Sai Kung Peninsula. It is part of Hoi Ha Wan Marine Park, a marine park in Hong Kong. The village of Hoi Ha is located on the innermost shore of Hoi Ha Wan.
Sai Kung Peninsula is a peninsula in the easternmost part of the New Territories in Hong Kong. Its name comes from Sai Kung Town in the central southern area of the peninsula. The Ninepin Group or Kwo Chau Islands (果洲群島) is a group of 29 islands in the easternmost waters of Hong Kong. The Ninepin Group falls under the jurisdiction of Sai Kung District of Hong Kong.
Double Haven or Yan Chau Tong is a harbour enclosed by Double Island, Crescent Island and Crooked Island with north-eastern New Territories, Hong Kong. Parts of the haven fall within Yan Chau Tong Marine Park to protect the wildlife of the marine creatures. It is known for its scenery and natural environment, and for the calm seas from which its English name derives. Double Haven contains many deep red coloured rocks because of iron oxide.
Joss House Bay, also known as Tai Miu Wan, is near the south end of Clear Water Bay Peninsula in Hong Kong. The Cantonese name Tai Miu Wan means "the bay of large temple" after the oldest Tin Hau Temple in Hong Kong.
Kau Yi Chau, also known as Tai Kau Yi Chau, is an uninhabited island located west of Victoria Harbour, between Peng Chau and Green Island in Hong Kong. It is located on the crossroad of sea routes, east to west and north to south. The ferry between Central and Mui Wo sails close to the south of the island. Administratively it is part of Islands District.
Western Street is an uphill one-way street in Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong. It connects Bonham Road in the south and Connaught Road West in the north. There are 337 units in 17 buildings in the street. Addresses are odd on the west side of the street, and mostly even on the east side. However, on the newer part of the street, on the reclamation north of Queen's Road West, the east side has both odd and even numbered addresses.
Port Shelter, known in Cantonese as Ngau Mei Hoi, is a harbour south of Sai Kung Peninsula in Hong Kong. The water body connects to Inner Port Shelter, as well as Hebe Haven (白沙灣), Rocky Harbour (糧船灣海) and other water body. Outer Port Shelter, is situated at the mouth of the harbour.
South Horizons is a private housing estate located in Aberdeen, Hong Kong at the western end of Ap Lei Chau, in the Southern District of Hong Kong. Developed by Secan Limited, a Hutchison Whampoa associate company, it consists of 34 blocks, ranging in height from 25 to 42 storeys, completed between 1992 and 1995. Census data indicated that South Horizons had a population of 31,496 in 2011 and was the most populated among the private and public estates of the district.
Yim Tin Tsai is a small offshore island in Sai Kung District, Hong Kong. As of 2013 there is at least one person living on the island again after a long absence of a permanent population.
