John McMullen is a radio host, producer, and broadcaster. He has worked for Internet radio broadcasters, founded the GayBC Radio Network, [1] [2] a service for the LGBT community, and operated Sirius Satellite Radio's LGBT radio offering, Sirius OutQ.
McMullen produced content for RealNetworks, later hosting a radio talk show with co-host Chelle Milleur called Hangin' Out. The show, consisting both of dialogue between the hosts and of interviews with newsmakers, covered topics of interest to the gay community in areas such as politics, world events, sports, fashion, and the arts. Issues like the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) and the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) were routinely covered, as were events important to the community, such as the annual Gay and Lesbian American Music Awards. It debuted September 29, 1996. [3]
Later, McMullen started GLOradio, [4] which became the GayBC Radio Network, an Internet radio broadcaster. This provided an international audience with 24-hour live and prerecorded programming, including news, talk, music, and entertainment programming via streaming audio. [5] He assembled a collection of on-air talent that included Milleur, Michelangelo Signorile, Grethe Cammermeyer, Mike Webb, Jeff Calley, Romaine Patterson, Anthony Veneziano, Jeremy Hovies, Charlie Dyer, and McMullen himself. Following the collapse of GayBC's advertising-supported business model, McMullen started another similar service called Gay Radio Network, which met a similar fate. [6]
Fledgling satellite radio broadcaster Sirius Satellite Radio hired McMullen to direct and oversee operations for Sirius OutQ, the company's radio channel focused on the LGBT community. McMullen and many of the others from GayBC Radio and Gay Radio Network formed the initial core of Sirius OutQ's programming. From 2003 through 2006, while still with Sirius, he served as a national media endorsement spokesperson for Subaru of America. [7] He was dismissed by Sirius in 2006.
He now serves as Director of News, Talk & Sports Programming for and hosts a general-interest talk show on KNews Radio's AM radio stations [7] in Coachella (KNWZ 970), Palm Springs (KNWQ 1140), and Yucca Valley, California (KNWH 1250), as well as on-line. [8] Two associates from GayBC, Charlie Dyer [7] [8] and Michael Wengert, [8] also work for the station.

Launched in 2002, Here TV is available nationwide on all major cable systems, fiber optics systems, and Internet TV providers as either a 24/7 premium subscription channel, a video on demand (VOD) service, and/or a subscription video on demand (SVOD) service. Here TV is actively involved in the LGBT community and offers sponsorship to yearly events such as gay pride events and film festivals as well as supporting a number of community organizations. In 2013, Here TV programming became available on the YouTube paid channels.
Specials was a part-time satellite radio channel which plays select special events and shows for Sirius and XM. When the channel was XM Live, some special events were broadcast in XM HD Surround, which was a 5.1 surround sound audio/CD quality stereo feed. XM Live broadcast musical events, concerts, sporting events, and weekly talk shows. The channel is available to XM Satellite Radio customers on Channel 120, And to Sirius Satellite Radio customers on Channel 113.

The Commercial Closet Association (CCA) was a New York City based non-profit organization, founded in 2001 to provide "training and best practices on the representation of" the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community. It hoped to affect the $1.1 trillion annual worldwide advertising market. Its board announced its closure in 2009 after merging with the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
Derek Hartley is an American talk show host, who co-hosts the weekday paid subscriber-only internet radio show and podcast Derek and Romaine 2.0 and who previously served as co-host of its forerunner Derek and Romaine Show, a talk radio show that aired on SiriusXM Satellite Radio's Gay/Lesbian channel, OutQ. The show had a national audience with a potential reach of 18,000,000 listeners. The show could also be heard worldwide on the internet similar to the new show format. He serves as emcee/host of LGBT events around the country. In 2018 he was credited for writing Hurricane Bianca: From Russia with Hate.
Brandon Scott Sessoms, best known as B. Scott is an American television personality, radio show host and internet celebrity who is known for his YouTube videoblogs and his website, LoveBScott.com. He is also a contributing editor to The Glam Network, and an Ebony Magazine advice columnist.
Gay Cable Network (GCN) was one of the first cable television networks which openly appealed to a gay and lesbian audience. It was established in 1982 in New York City by Lou Maletta, was broadcast on Manhattan Cable Television channel 35 and wound down operations in 2000–2001. It initially broadcast a series titled Men in Films, which explored male erotica, and evolved to host a wider variety of content, including news and current affairs programs which covered political developments affecting the LGBT community and the AIDS/HIV epidemic. Throughout its time, GCN provided coverage of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, with on-floor correspondents interviewing candidates and delegates, as well as coverage of the 1987 and 1993 LGBT rights marches on Washington. A documentary aired on GCN, Out in the 90's, earned the network a Special Recognition Award at the inaugural GLAAD Media Awards in 1990.
Clay Cane is a journalist, author, television commentator, radio host and filmmaker. He is the director and creator of the documentary Holler If You Hear Me: Black and Gay in the Church, which was nominated for a 2016 GLAAD Media Award. He is the author of Live Through This: Surviving the Intersections of Sexuality, God, and Race, which was released June 2017. Cane is also the host of The Clay Cane Show on SiriusXM Urban View channel 126.
