John Olver (rugby union)

Christopher John Olver (born 23 April 1961) is an English former rugby union hooker who played for England, Northampton Saints and Harlequins. [1]

Upon retirement Olver went into teaching and was master-in-charge of Rugby at Oundle School. [1]

John Olver is the uncle of Sale players Tom and Ben Curry, both of whom have played for England. Their mother is John Olver's sister.

The 1993 England rugby union tour of Canada was a series of five matches played by the England national rugby union team in Canada in May and June 1993. England won four matches and lost one. They drew their two-match international series against Canada, losing the first game and winning the second. Sixteen England players were taking part in the 1993 British Lions tour to New Zealand at the time, and England did not award international caps for the matches with Canada.

East Midlands 2 was a tier 10 English Rugby Union league with teams from Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and parts of Cambridgeshire taking part. Promoted teams moved up to East Midlands 1 and relegated teams dropped to East Midlands 3 until that division was cancelled at the end of the 1991–92 season. Restructuring of the East Midlands leagues at the end of the 2003–04 campaign meant that East Midlands 2 was discontinued and the majority of teams transferred into the new East Midlands/South Leicestershire 2 division.
