Harvard Law School (HLS) is the law school of Harvard University,a private research university in Cambridge,Massachusetts. Founded in 1817,Harvard Law School is the oldest continuously operating law school in the United States.
Wei Jingsheng is a Chinese human rights activist and dissident. He is best known for his involvement in the Chinese democracy movement. He is most prominent for having authored the essay "The Fifth Modernization",which was posted on the Democracy Wall in Beijing in 1978. As punishment for writing his manifesto,Wei was arrested and convicted of "counter-revolutionary" activities,and he was detained as a political prisoner from 1979 to 1993. Briefly released in 1993,Wei continued to engage in his dissident activities by speaking to visiting journalists,and as punishment,he was imprisoned again from 1994 to 1997,making it a total of 18 years he has spent in various prisons. He was deported to the United States of America on 16 November 1997,on medical parole. Still a Chinese citizen,in 1998 Wei established the Wei Jingsheng Foundation in New York City whose stated aim is to work to improve human rights and advocate democratization in China.

It is a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs (APSIA),a global consortium of schools that trains leaders in international affairs.
Bassam Tibi,is a Syrian-born German political scientist and professor of international relations specializing in Islamic studies and Middle Eastern studies. He was born in 1944 in Damascus,Syria to an aristocratic family,and moved to West Germany in 1962,where he later became a naturalized citizen in 1976.

David W. Kennedy is an American academic and legal scholar known for his work on,and criticism of,international law. As of 2017 he is the Manley Hudson Professor of Law and the Director of the Institute for Global Law and Policy (IGLP) at Harvard Law School,where he teaches the courses "Global Law and Governance","Law and Economic Development" and "Expertise and Rulership in Law and Science". He has been a professor at Harvard Law School since 1981,although for a few years he held an appointment at Brown University,as Vice President International Affairs and the David and Marianna Fisher University Professor of International Relations.

Sarah E. Mendelson is an American diplomat and served as United States Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council. Mendelson was confirmed by the Senate on October 8,2015,and sworn into her post on October 15,2015. Mendelson was recently named Distinguished Service Professor and head of Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College's program in Washington,D.C.
