Joshua Antron Chapman (born June 10, 1989) is a former American football nose tackle. He attended the University of Alabama and was drafted in the 5th round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Chapman served as the backup to All-American Terrence Cody during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, and was regarded as one of the better nose guard prospects in his class. [1]
Chapman appeared on the cover of the October 10, 2011, issue of Sports Illustrated after Alabama's 38–10 victory over Florida. [2]
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Chapman attended Hoover High School and played high school football under head coach Rush Propst and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. [3] Probst described him as the best defensive lineman in school history. As a junior, Chapman tallied 65 tackles, six sacks, and three tackles, while helping the Hoover Buccaneers to a 14–1 season record. In his senior season, Chapman recorded 97 tackles, 22 tackles for losses, two sacks, and an interception. Hoover finished the season as the 6A state runner-up with a 13–2 record, losing the state final 35–21 to Prattville. [4] The only other loss came against Joe McKnight's John Curtis Christian (LA). Regarded as a three-star prospect, Chapman was ranked as the No. 32 defensive tackle in his class, which was highlighted by Marvin Austin and Torrey Davis. [6] He chose Alabama over offers from Auburn, Mississippi, and Mississippi State. [7]
Chapman attended and played college football at the University of Alabama from 2007–2011 under head coach Nick Saban. [8] He played in three games in the 2007 season before earning a medical redshirt. [9] He was part of the 2009 Alabama team that won the National Championship over the Texas Longhorns and the 2011 Alabama team that won the National Championship over the LSU Tigers. [10] [11]

Chapman was drafted in the fifth round (136th overall) by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2012 NFL Draft. [14] [15] He was the sixth of eight Crimson Tide players to be selected that year. [16]
The Colts signed Chapman to a four-year, $2.3 million deal. [17] He missed his rookie season due to injury. [18] He played 13 games in the 2013 season and made 20 tackles and defended one pass. [19] In the 2014 season, he appeared in all 16 games and started 15. On the season, he had 25 total tackles and one forced fumble. [20] On September 5, 2015, Chapman was waived by the Colts. [21]
After his time with the Colts, Chapman joined the Alabama coaching staff as an assistant strength coach. [22]
Cornelius O'Landa Bennett is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Buffalo Bills from 1987 to 1995, Atlanta Falcons from 1996 to 1998, and the Indianapolis Colts from 1999 to 2000. Bennett was a five-time Pro Bowler, being elected in 1988, and 1990–1993, and won the AFC Defensive Player of the Year award twice.
Roman Harper is an American former professional football player who was a safety in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, and was selected by the New Orleans Saints in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft. In 2009, Harper earned his first Pro Bowl invitation and helped lead the Saints to Super Bowl XLIV. The following year, 2010, he was again selected to the Pro Bowl. In 2015, he helped lead the Carolina Panthers to Super Bowl 50.
Terrence Bernard Cody, Jr. is a former American football defensive tackle. He played college football for the University of Alabama. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2010 NFL draft and played five seasons in the NFL.
D'Andre Lawan "Dre" Kirkpatrick is an American former football cornerback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. He played college football at Alabama and was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft. He has also played for the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.
Qualin Dont'a Hightower is an American football coach and former linebacker who is the inside linebackers coach for the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He previously played in the NFL for nine seasons with the Patriots. Hightower played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, receiving consensus All-American honors and winning two BCS National Championships. Selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Patriots, he was named to two Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowl titles.
Kerry Murphy is a former American football defensive tackle. He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team from 2009 to 2011. Up until a career ending injury, Murphy was considered one of the top defensive tackles in his class.
Danny Lee Jesus "D. J." Fluker is an American football offensive tackle who is a free agent. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played college football at Alabama, where he was recognized as an All-American.
Marcell Dareus is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, where he was named defensive MVP of the 2010 BCS National Championship Game. Dareus was selected by the Buffalo Bills third overall in the 2011 NFL draft. He also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Brandon Augustus Deaderick is a former American football defensive end. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Alabama.
Courtney Tremaine Upshaw is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, earning first-team All-American honors in 2011. He was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
Clint Mosley Jr. is an American football linebacker for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Alabama, and was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. Mosley made 4 Pro Bowls as a member of the Ravens, and has made another as a member of the Jets.
Jesse Williams, nicknamed "tha Monstar", is an Australian former American football defensive tackle. Williams played college football for the University of Alabama, where he was a starter on the defensive line for the 2011 and 2012 national championship teams. The Seahawks chose him in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft. Although he spent the majority of his pro career on the injured reserve list, Williams became the first Australian to win a Super Bowl ring as a member of Seattle's 2013 team.

Mitchell Olenski was an American football player and coach. Olenski played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide, while serving in the Army at Fort Warren and then professionally with the Miami Seahawks and Detroit Lions. He also served as a coach for the Alabama Informals football team in their lone 1943 season and at Fort Warren in 1944 and 1945.
Ha'Sean Treshon "Ha Ha" Clinton-Dix is an American former professional football player who was a safety for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL), primarily with the Green Bay Packers. He played college football for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was selected by the Packers in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft. He later played for the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears, before briefly appearing with the Las Vegas Raiders.
