Early life and high school

Fryar was born in Beech Grove, Indiana where he attended high school at Beech Grove. Coming out of high school Fryar was a three-star recruit where he had offers from Alabama, Florida State, Iowa State, Michigan State, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Washington State, West Virginia, Wisconsin. [1] He decided to commit to play college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. [2] [3]

College career

In Fryar's first season in 2020, he would redshirt. In Fryar's second season in 2021 he played 12 games before tearing his ACL. [4] [5] During the 2022 season, Fryar got his first career start at guard against Indiana. [6] Fryar came into the 2023 season vying for a starting tackle job. [7] [8] Heading into the Buckeyes first game of the 2023 season, Fryar would earn the starting left tackle spot. [9] [10] For his performance on the 2023 season, Fryar was named first-team all Big Ten. [11] [12]

The team was led by head coach Urban Meyer in his return to coaching after retiring from Florida in 2010 due to health concerns. The Buckeyes played their home games at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The Buckeyes finished the season undefeated with 12 wins, Big Ten Leaders Division champions and ranked third in the AP Poll. Due to findings of an investigation conducted by the NCAA during the previous season, Ohio State was ineligible for both the Big Ten Championship Game and an appearance in a bowl game for the 2012 season.
