Joshua McKoon (born February 25,1979) is an American politician from the state of Georgia. He is a member of the Republican Party and formerly represented the 29th district in the Georgia State Senate. He currently serves as Chairman of the Georgia Republican Party.
In 2017,McKoon announced that he would not be seeking re-election for State Senate. [1] He ran for Georgia Secretary of State,but came in third in the primary receiving nearly 112,000 votes. [2]
John Hardy Isakson was an American businessman and politician who served as a United States senator from Georgia from 2005 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party,he previously served in the Georgia legislature and the United States House of Representatives.
The 1996 United States Senate elections were held on November 5,with the 33 seats of Class 2 contested in regular elections. Special elections were also held to fill vacancies. They coincided with the presidential election of the same year,in which Democrat Bill Clinton was re-elected president.

Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss,first elected in 2002,sought re-election to his position as a United States Senator from Georgia. He was challenged by Democratic nominee Jim Martin and Libertarian nominee Allen Buckley. After a runoff election on December 2,Chambliss was elected.

While pundits considered the Republican Party a slight favorite to gain control of the Senate,Senate Democrats outperformed expectations and expanded the majority they had held since 2021,gaining one seat for a functioning 51–49 majority.
The 2018 Georgia Secretary of State election was held on November 6,2018,to elect the Secretary of State of Georgia. It was held concurrently with the 2018 gubernatorial election,as well as elections for the United States Senate and elections for the United States House of Representatives and various state and local elections. Republican Incumbent Secretary of State Brian Kemp chose not to run for re-election and instead ran successfully for governor. Since no candidate received the requisite 50 percent of the vote,the top two candidates,Democrat John Barrow and Republican Brad Raffensperger proceeded to a runoff on December 4,2018.

Also up for election were all of Georgia's executive officers and legislative seats,as well as one seat on the Georgia Public Service Commission. The Republican Party decisively won every single statewide office in Georgia except for the Federal Senate race which narrowly went Democratic in 2022.
The 2022 Vermont Senate election took place on November 8,2022,as part of the biennial United States elections. The election coincided with elections for other offices including the U.S. Senate,U.S. House,Governor,and State House. Vermont voters elected all 30 state senators from 16 districts,with each district electing between one and three senators. State senators serve two-year terms in the Vermont Senate. Primary elections were held on August 9,2022. This election will be the first to use new districts adopted by the Vermont General Assembly to allocate for population changes across the state after the 2020 census.
