Coaching career
Chovanec coached the Czech Republic from 1998 to 2001. He managed to qualify his team to Euro 2000 but then failed to do so for the World Cup 2002, being eliminated by Belgium in the play-off matches two times by 1–0.
On 8 October 2008, Chovanec returned to Sparta Prague for his fourth spell as manager and parted from the club in December 2011.
On 19 June 2012, Chovanec was appointed head coach of UAE Pro-League side Baniyas SC.

Michal Bílek is a football manager and former player. He led the Czech Republic national football team for four years between 2009 and 2013. As a player, he represented Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic at international level. His playing position was right midfielder.
Luboš Kozel is a Czech professional football manager and former player who is currently in charge of Slovan Liberec. Following a playing career where he was mostly associated with Slavia Prague, he spent seven years as manager of Dukla Prague, overseeing their transition from the second-tier to the Czech First League. Kozel played for the Czech Republic national team, appearing in nine matches and scoring one goal.

They have taken part in UEFA competitions several times and got their best result in the 2005–06 UEFA Women's Cup when they reached the quarter-finals, losing over two legs to Djurgården.
Tomáš Poštulka is a Czech former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is one of the most successful Czech goalkeepers – and together with Petr Čech and Jaromír Blažek the most seasoned Czech goalkeeper in European Cups. Under Jozef Chovanec he was the #1 goalkeeper in the Czech National Team. Besides Czech Republic, he has played in Costa Rica.
