Juan Karlos (commonly stylized in all lowercase) is a Filipino rock band from Manila, Philippines, consisting of lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, primary songwriter and only constant member Juan Karlos Labajo, together with lead guitarist Jeriko Aguilar, and bassist Louise Bayas. The band, currently signed under MCA Music and Island Records, first gained exposure with the release of their second single "Buwan".

History

In 2018, Juan Karlos Labajo revealed that he is forming a band named after him. [1] [ failed verification ]

Their first studio album, Diwa, was released on March 20, 2020. [2]

In August 2020, Labajo confirmed the band’s hiatus.[ citation needed ]

In July 2021, the band returned with the song "Boston".[ citation needed ]

Their second studio album, Sad Songs & Bullshit Part 1, was released on September 24, 2023. The album's part 2 will be released in 2024. [3] On October 8, the single "Ere" became the first Filipino song to appear on the Spotify Global chart. It was also the first Filipino song on Spotify to receive more than 1 million streams in a single day. [4]

Juan Karlos Labajo is a Filipino singer, musician, and actor. Labajo rose to fame at age 13 when he finished third in the first season (2014) of The Voice Kids. He is the frontman and primary songwriter of his namesake band Juan Karlos. He has since released two studio albums as a solo artist and two studio albums with his band.

The song became one of the most played OPM songs of 2018, winning Song of the Year at the 2019 Myx Music Awards, 2019 Awit Award for People's Voice Favorite Song. "Buwan" received huge popularity and started as a song challenge through social media platforms in the Philippines even overseas.
