The National Rainbow Coalition (NARC) is a political party in Kenya. As an alliance,it was in power from 2002 and 2005 when it collapsed due to disagreements between members over a constitutional referendum.
The Kamba or Akamba people are a Bantu ethnic group who predominantly live in the area of Kenya stretching from Nairobi to Tsavo and north to Embu,in the southern part of the former Eastern Province. This land is called Ukambani and constitutes Makueni County,Kitui County and Machakos County. They also form the second largest ethnic group in 8 counties including Nairobi and Mombasa counties.

In April 2022,the party joined the Kenya Kwanza coalition for the August 2022 elections,and is headed by Moses Wetangula,the current speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya. The party tends to be more popular among the Luhya people.
Charity Kaluki Ngilu is a Kenyan politician and the second governor elected for Kitui County. She unsuccessfully vied to be President of the Republic of Kenya in 1997. She served as Minister for Health from 2003 until 2007 and Minister of Water and Irrigation from April 2008 to 2013. She also served as Cabinet Secretary for Land,Housing and Urban Development from 2013 until 2015.
Makueni County is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Wote. The county has a population of 987,653. The county lies between Latitude 1°35' and 2°59' South and Longitude 37°10' and 38°30' East. It borders Machakos to the North,Kitui to the East,Taita Taveta to the South and Kajiado to the West and covers an area of 8,008.9 km2.
Kitui County is a county in the former Eastern Province of Kenya with its capital and largest town being Kitui,although Mwingi is also another major urban centre. The county has a population of 1,136,187. and an area of 30,496 km2. It lies between latitudes 0°10 South and 3°0 South and longitudes 37°50 East and 39°0 East.

The party tends to be more popular among the Kamba people. It is headed by Kalonzo Musyoka,who ran for president in 2007 and served as the vice-president in the Grand Coalition of Mwai Kibaki and Raila Odinga. He is now a member of the main opposition Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Party.

Kitui Gubernatorial Elections were held in Kitui to elect a Governor and County Assembly on 4 March 2013. Under the new constitution,which was passed in a 2010 referendum,the 2013 general elections were the first in which Governors and members of the County Assemblies for the newly created counties were elected. They will also be the first general elections run by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC) which has released the official list of candidates.

Wavinya Ndeti EGH(born 8 November 1967) is a Kenyan politician and a business woman who is serving as the 2nd Governor of Machakos County. She previously served as a Member of Parliament for the Kathiani Constituency in the 10th Kenyan parliament and an assistant minister in the ministry of youth affairs and sport from 2008 to 2013. She was the first woman to be elected as a member of parliament in Machakos county since independence. She was a CCU candidate in 2013 and WDM-K candidate in 2017 for Machakos Governor.
Nimrod Mbithuka Mbai is a Kenyan politician and the current Member of Parliament for Kitui East Constituency. He was elected on a UDA ticket in the August 8th elections. He won after garnering a total of 14,256 votes against 10,899 votes garnered by NARC's Militonic Mwendwa Kitute. The then incumbent Member of Parliament,Major (Rtd) Mutua Muluvi was fourth with 5,436 votes. He is an ex-police officer and served as security aide to the late Francis Nyenze and later to the current Machakos County Governor Alfred Mutua. Governor Mutua appointed him to his government in 2013 after Mbai resigned from his police service. Mbai caused controversy for his rape remarks against Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu because of the governor's support for poll boycott called by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. He later apologised following public outcry and pressure from women's rights group FIDA Kenya
Edith Vethi Nyenze is a Kamba Kenyan politician who is the incumbent Member of Parliament for Kitui West Constituency. She was elected to succeed her late husband Francis Nyenze as the 7th Member of Parliament for Kitui West Constituency. She belongs to the WDM.
Mutula Kilonzo Jnr. is the current Governor of Makueni County government,Kenya. He is a member and chair of the Wiper Democratic Movement,Kenya and was elected as the second Senator of Makueni County Government on the WDM-K ticket in a by-election in July 2013,after the demise of his father lawyer Mutula Kilonzo and is currently serving as the second Governor for Makueni county,having been elected in the August 2022 elections. He is married to Anita Mutula and they are blessed with two children
