Justine Dupont (born 26 July 1991) is a French professional surfer.
Justine Dupont was born in Bordeaux, France. She began surfing at the age of 11. She lives between the South West of France [1] and Nazare, Portugal.
Multiple World Champion of the WSL XXL Awards, she has established herself as the best female big wave surfer in the world since 2019.
Her performance in tow-in surfing allows her to rival with the best male surfers in the discipline.
Stand Up Paddle World Champion and 4X Vice World Champion in 3 different disciplines, she is considered the most versatile female surfer in the world.[ by whom? ]
Justine is elected Chair of the ISA Athletes' Commission for the 2020 Olympic Games.
She was also a commentator on French TV during the 2021 Olympics.
She is one of the main characters in the HBO series "100 Foot Wave".
After being crowned longboard Vice World Champion in 2007 at the age of 15, she obtained again the title of Vice World Champion in 2019. [2]
In 2013, Dupont became the first woman to surf the 15m Belharra in the Northern Basque Country of France. [3]
In 2016, she was again Vice World Champion, this time in the big waves surfing division, [4] and a fourth title of vice world champion in 2017 in the stand up paddle division.
In 2017, she was crowned ISA World Team Surfing Champion with the French team.
Justine is also multiple National and European surfing and longboarding champion. She has accumulated 3 ISA World Team Titles with France (2013 et 2019 Longboard, 2017 Surf).
She has repeatedly surfed waves considered as some of the biggest waves surfed in the world by a woman. [5]

In January 2023 she surfs a gigantic wave on the mythical spot of Cortes Bank 110 miles off the coast of California. The wave is being measured to see if it is a new World Record for the biggest wave surfed by a woman. [10]

Robert Kelly Slater is an American professional surfer, best known for being crowned World Surf League champion a record 11 times. Slater is widely regarded as the greatest professional surfer of all time, and holds 56 Championship Tour victories. Slater is also the oldest surfer still active on the World Surf League, winning his 8th Billabong Pipeline Masters title at age 49.
Big wave surfing is a discipline within surfing in which experienced surfers paddle into, or are towed into, waves which are at least 20 feet high, on surf boards known as "guns" or towboards. Sizes of the board needed to successfully surf these waves vary by the size of the wave as well as the technique the surfer uses to reach the wave. A larger, longer board allows a rider to paddle fast enough to catch the wave and has the advantage of being more stable, but it also limits maneuverability and surfing speed.
Sofía Mulánovich Aljovín is a Peruvian surfer. She is a 3-time World Surfing Champion, 1 WSL and 2 ISA world championships,. She is the first Peruvian surfer ever to win a World Surf League World Championship Tour event and the first Latin American woman ever to win the World Title, which she did in 2004 In 2004, she won three out of the six World Championship Tour events, and finished the season as Absolute World Champion. Patrick Shane Dorian, or "Shane", is an American surfer from Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He spent 11 years touring on the World Championship Tour as a professional surfer. Dorian quit competition surfing in 2003 to focus on big waves. He is currently a big wave surfer and one of the best in the world at big wave riding.
The World Surf League (WSL) is the governing body for professional surfers and is dedicated to showcasing the world's best talent in a variety of progressive formats. The World Surf League was originally known as the International Professional Surfing founded by Fred Hemmings and Randy Rarick in 1976. IPS created the first world circuit of pro surfing events. In 1983 the Association of Surfing Pros took over management of the world circuit. In 2013, the ASP was acquired by ZoSea, backed by Paul Speaker, Terry Hardy, and Dirk Ziff. At the start of the 2015 season, the ASP changed its name to the World Surf League. Sophie Goldschmidt was appointed as WSL CEO on 19 July 2017. Paul Speaker had stepped down as CEO on 11 January 2017, and Dirk Ziff acted as the interim WSL CEO until Goldschmidt's appointment.

Keala Kennelly is a professional surfer, DJ, and actress from Kauai, Hawaii. After spending a decade ranked in the top 10 on the ASP World Championship Tour (WCT), Kennelly took a break from the tour in 2007 to explore her passions for acting and music, including a recurring role as a surfer in the 2007 series John from Cincinnati. Greg Long is an American surfer from San Clemente, California. He has won the Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational, in memory of Eddie Aikau at Waimea Bay, the Red Bull Titans of Mavericks event held at Mavericks in Northern California, and the Red Bull Big Wave Africa event held at Dungeons in Hout Bay, South Africa. Additionally, he is the most decorated surfer in the Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards. He is widely regarded as one of the best big wave surfers in the world.
Carissa Kainani Moore is a Hawaiian American Olympian, world champion surfer and activist. She was the first-ever winner of the Olympic Gold Medal in women's short board surfing in 2020. She was also the 2011, 2013, 2015, 2019 and 2021 World Surf League WSL Women's World Tour Champion. Moore is the first surfer in history to win a WSL world title and the Olympic title in the same year.

Sam Bleakley is a British surfer, travel writer, filmmaker, presenter and longboard contest commentator. Garrett "GMAC" McNamara is an American professional big wave surfer best known for setting the world record for largest wave ever surfed, as documented in the HBO series 100 Foot Wave. McNamara is also known for successfully negotiating a monstrous barrel at Jaws and being the first person ever to ride a wave formed from calving glaciers.
