Starting in the Top Album Sales chart's debut week of May 25, 1991, Billboard began tabulating charts with electronically monitored piece count information from Soundscan, now known as Luminate. During the week of December 6, 2014, the chart switched to a methodology that blends album sales with track equivalent album units and streaming equivalent album units. The Top Album Sales chart was created to preserve the older methodology of counting pure album sales.

It was released through a single pack on streaming services on February 15, 2024, as the third single from the superduo's collaborative album Vultures 1. The pack also includes "the Hooligan Version", where only the choir is present, and an "a cappella" version. During the recording sessions for West's eleventh studio album, they decided to set aside some of their music and create their three-volume collaborative album series, Vultures. The duo released the first installment, Vultures 1, on February 10, 2024.
