The Karnataka State Law University (KSLU) is an Indian state university in Navanagar, Hubli, Karnataka

Contents

It was established in January, 2009 by the government of Karnataka with a campus spread over 55 acres of land. [2] The university offers various undergraduate and postgraduate law courses in subjects such as Constitutional Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Business and Trade Law, Criminal and International Law. [2]

Academics

Law School

KSLU has a constituent law school which was established in 2009. The Law School offers undergraduate, post-graduate and doctoral programs. At the undergraduate level, five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (B.A., LL.B.(Hons.)) and Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (B.B.A., LL.B.(Hons.)) programmes are offered while at post-graduate level the Master of Laws (LL.M.) programme with specialization in Constitutional and Administrative Law and Corporate and Commercial Laws are offered. The undergraduate programs are designed as per Bar Council of India Rules. [4]

As of December 2021, KSLU has more than 100 colleges affiliated to it. [5]

Research

The university has launched Ph.D. programme, from academic year 2011-12 and has 2 research centers. [6]

Campus

KSLU moved into a new building in the campus which was modelled after the architecture of Supreme Court of India in 2017. The university building is spread over 20 acre in the campus. It has 20 classrooms with an auditorium that can accommodate 200 people, and an outdoor auditorium with 500 seats. [7]

University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE) was established in 1917, under the name Government Engineering College, by Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. It is the fifth engineering college to be established in the country and first in Karnataka. UVCE is one of the few technical institutions in the country that is vested with the status of a university and autonomy on the lines of IITs. It is one of the oldest technical institutions in the country, imparting technical education leading to B.Tech., B. Arch., M.Tech., M. Arch. and PhD degrees in the various disciplines of Engineering and Architecture. The college is approved by the AICTE and the Government of Karnataka. UVCE has secured an NAAC accreditation score of 3.17. The college used to receive financial aid under the TEQIP program from the World Bank.

Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), previously spelled Visveswaraiah Technological University, is a collegiate public state university in Belagavi, Karnataka established by the Government of Karnataka. All colleges in the State of Karnataka imparting education in Engineering or Technology, except those that have the consent of VTU and sanction of the Government, are required to be affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi. KLE Technological University, formerly known as B. V. Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering and Technology (BVBCET), colloquially the BVBCollege, is a private university in Hubli-Dharwad, Karnataka, India. It was upgraded to a university under the KLE Technological University Act, 2012. The school was founded by the KLE Society, Belgaum, in 1947.

Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad is an autonomous engineering and technology institute in Dharwad, Karnataka, India. IIT Dharwad started functioning from July 2016 in a temporary campus, previously of the Water and Land Management Institute (WALMI) in Belur Industrial Area, on the outskirts of Dharwad city. It was formally inaugurated on 28 August 2016. For the academic year 2016–2017, the institute offered B.Tech courses in three branches, namely.
