Baker was introduced to field hockey at age 14 when her family moved to Hamilton, Ontario where she decided to try out for the highschool team. She draws inspiration from her family, and her neighbors at home in Prince Edward Island. [1] A member of the senior national team since 2006 (junior national team from 2004 to 2005). Her first senior international cap was the 2006 UK Tour in Cardiff, Wales. [1] She was named to the Pan American Elite team in 2009, and was also named PEI Female Athlete of the year (2009).She is currently the Captain of the Canadian National team and has been coached by Louis Mendonca since 2008. Past coaches include, Sally Bell, Sharon Rajaraman, and Jennifer Gillan.
Katie played professionally overseas for Royal Antwerp Hockey Club in the 2009–2010 season. Currently, Katie's training is based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Baker was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island on April 21, 1984. [1] Katie attended Bluefield Highschool in Hampshire, Prince Edward Island, Canada. She plans to graduate in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology from Saint Mary's University, University of Prince Edward Island, and the University of British Columbia.

She represented Canada at the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Commonwealth Games, at the 2003, 2007 and 2011 Pan American Games and at the 2004 and 2009 Women's Pan American Cups. She won three CIS Championship titles with UBC Thunderbirds in 2001, 2003 and 2004. Kathleen "Katie" O'Donnell Bam is an American field hockey player. She was born in Norristown, Pennsylvania, and attended Wissahickon High School in Ambler, Pennsylvania. O'Donnell began playing for the Maryland Terrapins in the 2007 season. She was the youngest member of the 2005 United States women's national team and has become known for her excellent stick skills and ability to create. Her attributes were put on full display throughout her freshman campaign as she earned a starting position for the preseason number-one team in the country at forward.
The 2009 Women's Pan American Cup was the 3rd edition of the Women's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial international women's field hockey championship of the Americas organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was held between 7 and 15 February 2009 in Hamilton, Bermuda.
David Charles Michael Carter is a Canadian field hockey player who is the goalie for the Canada men's national field hockey team. He made his international debut on home soil against Chile in 2007 and registered a 1–1 draw. His first career win came at the Azlan Shah Cup Tournament in Malaysia against Belgium in 2008. Carter currently has 122 international caps and has represented Canada at the 2009 Pan American Cup, 2010 World Cup, 2010 Commonwealth Games, and 2011 Pan American Games alongside various other international competitions. After playing for the UBC Thunderbirds for 5 years, Carter currently plays for the United Brothers of the Vancouver Premier League. Carter was selected Goaltender of the Tournament for the 2009 Pan American Cup which qualified Canada for the 2010 World Cup to be held in New Delhi, India. He was also selected to the Pan American Elite Team in 2009. Instrumental in helping Canada qualify for the Rio Olympics in 2016, Carter was named both Player of the Tournament and Goalie of the Tournament at the World League Round 3 Event in Buenos Aires, Argentina. At the event Canada defeated New Zealand in a 14-round shootout after regulation time ended 0-0, where Carter was called upon to make multiple saves in the quarterfinal match up. He then achieved a silver medal in the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto and was then nominated for FIH Goalie of the Year. In 2015 he wads named Field Hockey Canada Player of the Year and another selection to the Pan American Elite Team.
Tyla Flexman is a field hockey player from Canada who played midfield for the Canadian Women's National Field Hockey Team from 2004 to 2012. She started playing field hockey in grade 8 at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School (Vancouver) and played for the Junior Women's National Field Hockey Team from 2004 to 2005, competing in the Junior Pan Am Cup and Junior World Cup in 2005. In 2008, she played her 5th and final year with the University of British Columbia and was selected as the National Gail Wilson Award winner as well as Canada West Player of the Year while completing her degree in Human Kinetics. She was selected to the Senior Women's National Field Hockey Team in 2008 and played center midfield for the team (#18) until her retirement in 2012. During that time she played in the 2010 Commonwealth Games, 2011 Pan American Games, and in two FIH Champions Challenge II Tournaments. In 2012, she won the BC Female Field Hockey Player of the Year. Following her retirement she joined Fortius Sport & Health as a Coordinator for Partnerships and Programs.
Erin Matson is an American former field hockey player and the current head coach of the North Carolina Tar Heels field hockey team. A standout player on that team from 2018 to 2022, she led the Tar Heels to win four NCAA Championships.
