Kristin Diable is an American musician, songwriter, and singer from New Orleans, Louisiana.
Diable began her musical career as a young teenager in south Louisiana playing underground clubs. She moved to New York City at the age of 18, expanding her musical palette and garnering mainstream music industry attention for the first time. Despite numerous well-received concerts and collaborations with local artists, she followed her muse back to her native Louisiana in the late-2000s. She released a solo EP titled Extended Play in 2009 via Speakeasy Records. [1] Three years later she released an album titled Kristin Diable and the City via Speakeasy Records, [2] garnering critical regional acclaim. [3] Songs from the album were featured on HBO's "True Blood" and "Treme" television series. [3]
She released her third full-length album and first national album in 2015 titled Create Your Own Mythology via Speakeasy Records/Thirty Tigers. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9] The album was produced by Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell) and received a 4 out of 5 star review from American Songwriter Magazine. "It's still early in 2015, but with a release this powerful, look for Kristin Diable to be one of the year’s breakout artists." - American Songwriter. [4] NPR premiered the album on its First Listen series. "In the rhythm behind her and the twang of her long vowels, she's got the easy, yeah-you-right swagger of her Louisiana roots....Diable has the same grit lining her throat that Amy Winehouse had, but sings from a place of levity that Winehouse never found." Create Your Own Mythology garnered a loyal cult fan base and was named one of American Songwriter Magazine's top 50 Records of 2015 [11] stating "the organic approach is largely responsible for Diable finding her sultry voice. It helps to have written some terrific swampy yet floating melodies too. When your album kicks off with the bluesy, instantly memorable swagger of "I'll Make Time For You" and closes on the dark, churchy bittersweet tang of "Honey, Leave The Light On," you have tapped into a muse that is diverse, distinctive and delightfully edgy." Diable was the lead actress in the short film Forever Waves. Director and producer Jeffrey Roedel enlisted Diable on the project as a co-writer and composer as well. The film earned an Award of Excellence in the Best Shorts Competition and was featured at Louisiana International Film Festival and French Quarter Festival. From 2017-2018 Diable participated as a judge and mentor in the Louisiana based CBS music show "Sing Like a Star," alongside Terrance Simien, Marc Broussard and host Arthel Neville. [14]
Diable lives in New Orleans, LA. [15] When not touring with the band, she cites regular travel around the world for inspiration. [16] Diable gave birth to her first child, Lucinda, in 2019.

Lesley Sue Goldstein, better known with her family’s adopted surname as Lesley Gore, was an American singer and songwriter. At the age of 16, she recorded her first hit song "It's My Party", a US number one in 1963. She followed it up with ten further US Billboard top 40 hits including "Judy's Turn to Cry" and "You Don't Own Me". Gore said she considered "You Don't Own Me" her signature song.

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings were an American funk and soul band signed to Daptone Records. They were part of a revival movement of mid-1960s to mid-1970s style funk and soul music. They released their debut album Dap Dippin' in 2002, the first of seven studio albums. Their 2014 album Give the People What They Want was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Following Sharon Jones' death in 2016, the band released the posthumous album Soul of a Woman in 2017 and a compilation of cover songs in 2020.
Back to Black is the second and final studio album by English singer and songwriter Amy Winehouse, released on 27 October 2006 by Island Records. Winehouse predominantly based the album on her tumultuous relationship with then-ex-boyfriend and future husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who temporarily left her to pursue his previous ex-girlfriend. Their short-lived separation spurred her to create an album that explores themes of guilt, grief, infidelity, heartbreak and trauma in a relationship.

Amy is a 2015 British documentary film directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees. The film covers British singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse's life and her struggle with substance abuse, both before and after her career blossomed, and which eventually caused her death. In February 2015, a teaser trailer based on the life of Winehouse debuted at a pre-Grammys event. David Joseph, CEO of Universal Music UK, announced that the documentary titled Amy would be released later that year. He further stated: "About two years ago we decided to make a movie about her—her career and her life. It's a very complicated and tender movie. It tackles lots of things about family and media, fame, addiction, but most importantly, it captures the very heart of what she was about, which is an amazing person and a true musical genius."

In Defense of My Own Happiness is the third studio album and major label debut by American singer-songwriter Joy Oladokun. It was released on June 4, 2021, by Amigo Records, Verve Forecast Records, and Republic Records and serves as the sequel to her second studio album In Defense of My Own Happiness (2020). It was promoted by eight singles released throughout 2020 and 2021, and includes two previous singles from The Beginnings, "Sunday" and "Breathe Again". The album features guest appearances from Jensen McRae, Maren Morris, and Penny & Sparrow. On July 30, 2021, a "complete edition" was released featuring all the songs from both albums, as well as two new songs.
