Lee Il-hyung is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. Prior to directing his first feature film A Violent Prosecutor (2016), Lee is an assistant director on films, such as The Moonlight of Seoul (2008), My Way (2011) and Kundo: Age of the Rampant (2014), and commercial films. [1]

In 2016, he finally had his own opportunity to direct when he teamed up with the production company Sanai Pictures to make the thriller A Violent Prosecutor, which becomes the highest-grossing South Korean film of 2016, with a US$66.6 million worldwide gross. [2] [3]

Lee Jung-gook is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. Lee's feature debut Song of Resurrection (1990) was banned as its plot deals with the 1980 Gwangju Uprising. He won critical acclaim for his second feature The Story of Two Women (1994) by winning numerous awards at the 32nd Grand Bell Awards, including Best Film, Best New Director and Best New Actress, and Best New Director at the 14th Korean Association of Film Critics Awards in 1994. The Roundup is a South Korean crime action film series, starring Ma Dong-seok in the lead role. Each film follows the story of Detective Ma Seok-do hunting down vicious criminals. The first film The Outlaws, directed by Kang Yoon-sung, starring Yoon Kye-sang as the antagonist was released in 2017. The second film titled The Roundup, directed by Lee Sang-yong and Son Suk-ku playing the antagonist, was released in 2022. The third film titled The Roundup: No Way Out, directed by Lee Sang-yong, was released on May 31, 2023. The fourth film The Roundup: Punishment had its world premiere at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival on February 23, 2024.
