L.N. "Leen" van Beuzekom [1] [2] was an Indonesian football goalkeeper who played for the Dutch East Indies in the 1938 FIFA World Cup. [3] He also played for VIOS Batavia and Hercules Batavia.

Gerardus Henricus "Puck" van Heel was a Dutch footballer. He earned 64 caps for the Netherlands national football team, and played in the 1934 and 1938 World Cups. Normally an inside left and left wing half, Van Heel was a slow player but possessed considerable vision and technical ability and was particularly good passer.

Mo Heng (Bing) Tan was the goalkeeper of the Dutch East Indies football team during the 1938 FIFA World Cup in France. The Dutch East Indian team only played one match after losing 0–6 to Hungary. He also had a mascot for the match. Tan became the only ex-Dutch East Indian team player to represent independent Indonesia in 1951, in an unofficial match against a Sino-Malayan Selection from Singapore.

Louis Victor Wijnhamer, better known as Pah Wongso, was an Indo social worker popular within the ethnic Chinese community of the Dutch East Indies, and subsequently Indonesia. Educated in Semarang and Surabaya, Pah Wongso began his social work in the early 1930s, using traditional arts such as wayang golek to promote such causes as monogamy and abstinence. By 1938, he had established a school for the poor, and was raising money for the Red Cross to send aid to China.

Bernard Wilhelm "B. W." Lapian was a nationalist involved in the struggle for Indonesian independence. He published several newspapers that gave voice to the welfare of the Indonesian people and promoted Indonesian nationalism. He was also part a group who established a separate Christian denomination from the official Dutch East-Indies church institution. After Indonesia gained its independence, Lapian served as head of the district of Manado and acting governor of Sulawesi. In 2015, he was given the title of National Hero of Indonesia by President Joko Widodo.

Adriana Johanna Bake (1724–1787) was the wife of the Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies and an influential figure in the Dutch colony of Batavia.
