Leena Krohn (born February 28, 1947 in Helsinki) is a Finnish author. [1] Her large and varied body of work includes novels, short stories, children's books, and essays. In her books she deals with topics that include man's relationship with himself and the world, morality, borders between reality and illusion, and the problem of life, especially through observing different kinds of artificial intelligence.

Krohn has received several prizes, including the Finlandia Prize for literature in 1992. Her short novel Tainaron: Mail From Another City was nominated for a World Fantasy Award and International Horror Guild Award in 2005. Her books have been translated into English, German, Bulgarian, Estonian, French, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Norwegian, Danish, Swedish and Italian. Leena Krohn used the Internet in her literary work as early as mid-1990s. Leena Krohn was born and lives in Helsinki. [1]

Julius Krohn

Julius Leopold Fredrik Krohn was a Finnish folk poetry researcher, professor of Finnish literature, poet, hymn writer, translator and journalist. He was born in Viipuri and was of Baltic German origin. Krohn worked as a lecturer on Finnish language in Helsinki University from the year 1875 and as a supernumerary professor from 1885. He was one of the most notable researchers into Finnish folk poetry in the 19th century. His native language was German.

Tainaron: Mail From Another City is a science fiction/fantasy novel written in 1985 by Finnish author Leena Krohn. The book is regarded as the author's breakthrough novel. Tainaron was nominated for the Finlandia Prize in 1985, The Nordic Council Literature Prize in 1988, the World Fantasy Award and the International Horror Guild Award in 2005. It won the Thanks for the Book Award in 1986.

Olli Jalonen

Olli Jalonen (born February 21, 1954 in Helsinki, is a Finnish author. He lives in Hämeenlinna, Finland. He has studied Social Sciences and Literature and has worked in journalism before becoming a full-time writer in 1981. His debut book was published in 1978 and since that he has published over 20 books and drama. Some of his novels have been translated into German, Swedish, Norwegian, Estonian and Latvian, and short stories in different languages.

Tuuve Aro is a Finnish author, who was born and lives in Helsinki. Alongside her work as a writer, she works as a film critic and has also done some film producing. Her first book appeared in 1999, and she has published a total of ten fiction books, five of which are short story collections, three novels and two children's novels. Päivi Istala

Päivi Istala was the Head of Broadcasting for Finland's YLE from 1967 to 2011. She graduated with a degree in playwrighting from the Theater School University department in 1971 and served as the city theater director in Kemi from 1975 to 1981. She has been awarded, among other things, the Finland State Award for Public Information, the Hella Award, and the White Rose of Finland's Order of Merit. Ms. Istala retired at the end of January 2011, and published her memoirs Cross Appeal and Other Stories of life. She serves as the Chair of the Saima Harmaja Society, commemorating the Finnish poet.
