Like Moths to Flames is an American metalcore band from Columbus, Ohio, formed in 2010 by former members of various bands, including Emarosa, Agraceful, the Crimson Armada, TerraFirma, and My Ticket Home. The band has released four studio albums and three EPs through Rise Records. The band's current line-up consists of lead vocalist Chris Roetter, guitarists Zach Pishney and Cody Cavanaugh, and drummer Roman Garcia. Roetter is the only member of the original line-up that remains in the band.
The band was formed in early 2010. Vocalist Chris Roetter, having sung for the bands Agraceful and Emarosa beforehand, formed Like Moths to Flames with four of the six members of Ohio metalcore band TerraFirma: Aaron Evans (who joined playing rhythm guitar before later moving to bass); Zach Huston (lead guitar); Aaron Douglas (bass); and Jordan Matz (drums). [1] The band released their debut single titled "Dead Routine" on February 7, 2010. Prior to the release of debut EP Sweet Talker , they would release two more demos, "Avada Kedavra" and "Death Eaters". Death Eaters featured Michael Guilford of Legion a deathcore band from the same area.
On October 17, 2010, it was announced that Like Moths to Flames had been signed to Rise Records and were already working on their first EP. Two months later, the band released their EP titled Sweet Talker on December 14, 2010. [2] To help support their new music, the band set out with fellow acts Texas in July and A Hero A Fake on the "A Metal Christmas" tour through late 2010. Sometime before their EP was released, drummer Jordan Matz left Like Moths to Flames, and was replaced by Lance Greenfield.
With continuous touring through 2011, the band decided to settle back down and head into the studio to record their first full-length studio album. Right before the band headed to the studio, bassist Aaron Douglas parted ways with the band. The band had Eli Ford (formerly of My Ticket Home) join on guitar and Aaron Evans moved to bass. When We Don't Exist was released on November 8 through Rise Records. In January 2012, the band headed out on the S.I.N. Tour with acts D.R.U.G.S., Hit the Lights and Sparks the Rescue to support the album. Soon after, they toured with bands Texas in July and Hundredth. [3]
The band then spent the first half of 2013 headlining the Rise Records tour around the US with supporting acts Crown the Empire, the Color Morale, Palisades and My Ticket Home. [4] The band recorded their second full-length album with Will Putney at (The Machine Shop) in Hoboken, New Jersey and was released July 9, 2013. On May 29, 2013, the band confirmed the new album was called An Eye for an Eye . [5] The album debuted at number 63 on the Billboard 200 top sales. They toured with the Vans Warped Tour over the summer of 2013 on the Monster Energy Stage. Shortly after the All Stars Tour 2014, guitarist Zach Huston decided to part ways with the band citing that he wants to pursue other interests. It wasn't until late in 2015 that he was replaced by guitarist Jeremy Smith, formerly of City Lights.
In a Q&A interview with Stheart, [6] Chris Roetter announced the band has been writing new music and intends to release it "soon". On Monday, April 6, the band released a standalone release on 7" Vinyl called The Dream Is Dead, featuring two tracks - the A-side being "Bury Your Pain" and the B-side being "What's Done Is Done".
The band's third full-length album, The Dying Things We Live For , was announced on September 3, 2015, confirming its release date to be October 23, 2015. [7] Upon release, the album debuted at number 150 on the Billboard 200. Three singles from the album have been released thus far, with music videos accompanying two of the songs - "Fighting Fire with Fire", and "Wither".
On September 27, 2017, the band released a single "Nowhere Left to Sink". They announced that the associated album, Dark Divine , would be released on November 3, 2017. [8] The music video for "Nowhere Left to Sink" was released exclusively to AltPress on September 27. They released the second single and title track, "Dark Divine" through Loudwire on October 7. [9] The third single, "Empty the Same" was released on October 14. [10] The fourth single, "Shallow Truths for Shallow Minds" was released on October 21 via Tattoo.com. [11] The final and fifth single, "From the Dust Returned" was released on October 28. [12]
On November 16, 2018, the band released Dark Divine Reimagined, a short EP which saw the band record and release some tracks from their Dark Divine record in an acoustic and stripped down format. [13] In May 2019, vocalist Chris Roetter confirmed that the band had parted ways with Rise Records, the label who they had been with since their inception and through which they've released all of their albums and EPs to date. He also confirmed that they had already written and recorded several tracks towards what may be their fifth album. [14] On September 17, the band announced that they signed with UNFD and released a new single "All That You Lost". [15] On October 15, the band released another single titled "Smoke and Mirrors". [16] On November 13, the band released a new EP titled Where the Light Refuses to Go. [17]
On August 5, 2020, the band teased on their Twitter account that a single titled "Habitual Decline" would be released on August 11. [18] On that day, the band officially released the single along with its music video. At the same time, the band officially announced No Eternity in Gold , which was released on October 30, 2020. [19] On September 9, the band released the second single "YOTM". [20] On October 7, the band released the third single "Selective Sacrifice" alongside an accompanying music video. [21] On October 27, three days before the album release, the band released the fourth and final single from the album, "Killing What's Underneath". [22]
On October 5, 2021, the band announced a five-track EP, entitled Pure Like Porcelain. The EP, set for release on November 5, 2021, features brand new tracks primarily lifted from a wellspring of new material the band have compiled in recent years, with guitarist Zach Pishney referring to it as just a 'small taste' of what is to come. [23] [24] On October 28, one week before the EP release, the band released the second and final single from the EP, "Views from Halfway Down". [25] On January 25, 2023, the band fired founding member Aaron Evans due to the history of alleged abuses with text messages, ranging from multiple secret relationships to manipulation and gaslighting. [26] [27] On March 30, the band released a brand new single "Predestination Paradox". [28] On May 4, the band unveiled another single "I Found the Dark Side of Heaven". [29]
On February 7, 2024, the band released two new singles "Paradigm Trigger" and "Angels Weep" with a corresponding music video for "Paradigm Trigger". [30] On March 7, the band unveiled the third single "Kintsugi" along with a music video. At the same time, they announced that their upcoming sixth studio album, The Cycles of Trying to Cope, is set for release on May 10, 2024, while also revealing the album cover and the track list. [31] On April 11, the band premiered the fourth single "Dissociative Being". [32]

Job for a Cowboy is an American death metal band from Glendale, Arizona. Formed in 2003, the band's debut album Genesis was released in 2007, peaking at No. 54 on the US Billboard 200 and selling 13,000 copies in its first week of release. The second album, 2009's Ruination, sold 10,600 copies in the United States in its first week to debut at position No. 42 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band comprises vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Tony Sannicandro and Al Glassman and bassist Nick Schendzielos. Davy is the only remaining founding member.
Emarosa is an American rock band formed in Lexington, Kentucky, in 2006. The band currently consists of lead guitarist and founding member E.R. White and lead vocalist Bradley Walden, who joined the band in 2013. The group has undergone several line-up changes throughout its career, with lead guitarist E.R. White being the sole remaining founding member. Originally oriented towards post-hardcore and alternative rock, Emarosa has gravitated towards a more pop rock sound in recent years.
The Amity Affliction is an Australian post-hardcore band from Gympie, Queensland, formed in 2003. The band's current line-up consists of Ahren Stringer, Joel Birch, Dan Brown (guitar) and Joe Longobardi (drums). The Amity Affliction has released eight studio albums including Severed Ties (2008), Youngbloods (2010), Chasing Ghosts (2012), Let the Ocean Take Me (2014), This Could Be Heartbreak (2016), Misery (2018) and Everyone Loves You... Once You Leave Them (2020). They are known for their highly personal songs, often dealing with depression, anxiety, death, substance abuse, and suicide, many lyrics stemming from vocalist Joel Birch's past struggles. The Amity Affliction released their latest album, Not Without My Ghosts, on 12 May 2023.
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band formed in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2008. The band was signed to Fearless Records since their formation. In 2022, they changed their label and signed to Thriller Records. The band currently consists of vocalist Tyler Smith, guitarists Zack Hansen and Jose DelRio, and drummer Daniel Nelson. The group has had several line-up changes throughout their career, with Hansen as the only remaining founding member. Their second EP, Empire reached No. 15 on the Top Heatseekers, meeting a great amount of positive acclaim upon its release in 2009. The following year, the group recorded and released their debut studio album, Deceiver on August 31, 2010, which reached No. 97 on the Billboard 200 and 15 on Independent Albums.
Motionless in White is an American metalcore band from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Formed in 2004, the band consists of lead vocalist Chris "Motionless" Cerulli, guitarists Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky "Horror" Olson, drummer Vinny Mauro and bassist Justin Morrow. Cerulli is the only member of the original line-up that remains in the band. The group has stated that their band name derived from the Eighteen Visions song "Motionless and White".

Hands Like Houses are an Australian rock band from Canberra. Formed in 2008, the group is currently signed to Hopeless Records and UNFD. Their debut album, Ground Dweller, was released on 13 March 2012, charting at number 141 on the Billboard 200 and number 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. Their second album, Unimagine, was released on 23 July 2013, during their route on Warped Tour. The band's third album, Dissonants was released on 26 February 2016, followed by their fourth, Anon, on 12 October 2018.
Northlane are an Australian heavy metal band from Sydney, formed in 2009. The band comprises guitarists Jon Deiley and Josh Smith, drummer Nic Pettersen and vocalist Marcus Bridge. Northlane have released six studio albums: Discoveries ; Singularity, which reached No. 3 on the ARIA Albums Chart; Node, a number-one album; Mesmer, Alien and Obsidian. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2015 the group won the Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album category for their album Node. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2017, the band won again with Mesmer. The band won the Best Hard Rock or Heavy Metal Album category for the third time at the ARIA Music Awards of 2019 for their 2019 album Alien.
Sweet Talker is the first EP by American metalcore band Like Moths to Flames. It was released on December 14, 2010, through Rise Records and was produced by Landon Tewers, the lead vocalist of the band The Plot in You. The band released the first single from the EP "Dead Routine" on February 7, 2010.
The Plot in You is an American rock band formed in Hancock County, Ohio in 2010. Originally a side project of former Before Their Eyes member Landon Tewers, the group is composed of Tewers, guitarist Josh Childress, bassist Ethan Yoder and drummer Michael Cooper.
Lorna Shore is an American deathcore band formed in New Jersey in 2009. The group currently consists of lead guitarist Adam De Micco, drummer Austin Archey, rhythm guitarist Andrew O'Connor, vocalist Will Ramos, and bassist Michael Yager. The band is most known for their 2021 single "To the Hellfire". They have released four studio albums Psalms (2015), Flesh Coffin (2017), Immortal (2020), and Pain Remains (2022). The band has also released four EPs. Since 2017, no original members remain in the band.

Erra is an American progressive metalcore band from Birmingham, Alabama, formed in 2009. The band was named after the homonymous Akkadian god of war and plague. The band has released six studio albums and three EPs to date. Their latest album, titled Cure, was released on April 5, 2024. They have toured with bands such as As I Lay Dying, August Burns Red, TesseracT, Born of Osiris, Ice Nine Kills, Glass Cloud, Within the Ruins, Bad Omens, I See Stars, and Texas in July.
Invent Animate is an American metalcore band formed in Port Neches, Texas, in 2011. The group consists of vocalist Marcus Vik, lead guitarist Keaton Goldwire, rhythm guitarist Trey Celaya, bassist Caleb Sherraden, and drummer Brody Taylor Smith. They self-released their debut EP titled Waves on March 13, 2012. After a number of regional tours and increasing popularity in the online djent community, the band was signed up by Tragic Hero Records in February 2014. The band announced they would release their debut studio album titled Everchanger on August 26, 2014. Their sophomore album, Stillworld, was released on July 8, 2016. Their third album and first with Marcus Vik, Greyview, was released on March 13, 2020. Their most recent studio album, Heavener, was released through their new label, UNFD, on March 17, 2023.

It is the band's first release with rhythm guitarist Zach Pishney. It is also the last album to feature Greg Diamond as drummer and the last to be released on this label.

No Eternity in Gold is the fifth studio album by American metalcore band Like Moths to Flames. It was released on October 30, 2020, through UNFD. The album was produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. It is the band's first studio release with the label. It is also their last album to feature original member and bassist Aaron Evans, who was fired from the band following allegations of sexual misconduct and mental abuse in 2023.
