Birmingham Phoenix were formed in 2019, and played their first Hundred match in the 2021 season of The Hundred against London Spirit for both the Men's side and the Women's side. Hundred matches are classed as Twenty20 matches and so have Twenty20 status or Women's Twenty20 status. Sophie Frances Monique Devine is a New Zealand sportswoman, who has represented New Zealand in both cricket for the New Zealand national women's cricket team, and in field hockey as a member of the New Zealand women's national field hockey team. She has since focused on cricket. She is known for not wearing a helmet when batting, a rarity in 21st century cricket. In December 2017, she was named as one of the players in the ICC Women's T20I Team of the Year.
The Hundred is a professional franchise 100-ball cricket tournament involving eight men's and eight women's teams located in major cities across England and Wales. The tournament is run by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and took place for the first time in July and August 2021.

Evelyn Jones is an English cricketer who currently captains Central Sparks, as well as playing for Warwickshire, Birmingham Phoenix and Melbourne Renegades. She plays primarily as a left-handed opening batter, as well as bowling left-arm medium. She has previously played for Shropshire, Staffordshire and Lancashire, as well as for Loughborough Lightning and Lancashire Thunder in the Women's Cricket Super League and New Zealand side Canterbury Magicians.
Marie Kelly is an English cricketer who is currently the captain of Warwickshire, as well as playing for The Blaze and Northern Superchargers. She plays primarily as a right-handed batter. She led Warwickshire to the 2019 Women's Twenty20 Cup title, and was the leading run-scorer in Division 1 that year. She previously played for Southern Vipers, Central Sparks, Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets.
Gwenan Mai Davies is a Welsh cricketer who currently plays for Warwickshire. She plays as a wicket-keeper and left-handed batter, as well as occasionally bowling right-arm medium-fast. She has previously played for Wales, Somerset and Central Sparks, as well as Yorkshire Diamonds and Surrey Stars in the Women's Cricket Super League and Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred.
Alice Rose Capsey is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey, South East Stars, Oval Invincibles, Delhi Capitals and Melbourne Stars. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler. In 2021, Capsey was voted the inaugural PCA Women's Young Player of the Year. Capsey made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in July 2022.
