The Edmonton Elks are a professional Canadian football team based in Edmonton, Alberta, and are members of the West Division in the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Edmonton was founded in 1949, although other teams named the Edmonton Eskimos existed 1895 to 1923 and 1929 to 1939.
The Edmonton Elks are the most successful CFL franchise of the modern era (1949–present), having won the league's Grey Cup fourteen times (As the Eskimos), including an unmatched five consecutive wins between 1978 and 1982, and most recently in 2015.

He was signed by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Bowman has also been a member Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, and Edmonton Eskimos/Elks. He played college football at Oklahoma State. Bowman was a Grey Cup Champion and three time CFL All-Star having accumulated 652 receptions for 9,491 yards and 49 touchdowns in 141 career games.

Tim St. Pierre is a former professional Canadian football fullback and long snapper who was drafted by the Edmonton Eskimos in the third round of the 2008 CFL Draft. He played CIS football for the Saint Mary's Huskies.
Trevor Harris is an American professional Canadian football quarterback for the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2010. Harris has also played in the Arena Football League and United Football League. He played college football at Edinboro University. As Edinboro's starting quarterback, he broke "every career passing record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference" and was a two-time finalist for the Harlon Hill Trophy, awarded each year to the individual selected as the most valuable player in NCAA Division II.
Matthew O'Donnell is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman who played for ten years with the Edmonton Eskimos franchise of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a Vanier Cup champion after winning with the Queen's Gaels in 2009 and he is a Grey Cup champion after winning with Edmonton in 2015. He is also a two-time CFL West Division All-Star and was named a CFL All-Star in 2017.

The league expanded to nine teams with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks, giving the CFL nine teams for the first time since the 2005 season. Jones previously served as the defensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes, Calgary Stampeders and Toronto Argonauts before becoming a head coach. Jones won four Grey Cup rings with four teams between 2002 and 2015.

He was previously wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a former Canadian football defensive back who played six seasons in the CFL with the Montreal Alouettes and Eskimos. He played college football at the University of Richmond and attended Gar-Field Senior High School in Woodbridge, Virginia. He was also a member of the Washington Redskins of the National Football League.

Adam Konar is a Canadian football linebacker for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was originally drafted 25th overall in the 2015 CFL Draft by the Edmonton Eskimos and played for four seasons with the team. He played CIS football for the Calgary Dinos.

Ruby played football throughout his youth and played for both high school and college teams. He was a 2010 graduate of Fork Union Military Academy. Ruby was a four-year starter at the University of Richmond.

The 2021 Edmonton Elks season was the 63rd season for the team in the Canadian Football League and their 72nd overall. This was the first season that the team competed under a new name, as the "Eskimos" moniker was retired in 2020, and the new name "Elks" was announced on June 1, 2021.
